This is more of a rant than anything.
On several of my toons, I was trying to do the Assaults and Visions. While I am there fighting the packs of mobs around objectives, either a druid would fly in and take it without even landing or someone will run in and take it while the mobs are preoccupied with me. 75% of the objectives I went for kept getting taken and it stared to get agitating to the point I had to quest the Assaults.
Blizzard needs to do something about this kind of issue.
If you see someone fighting on a node, quest objective, etc, have enough respect and not take it from them.

Use the Imprisonment or the two stuns to stop mobs then grab the objective.

generally speaking, you want to CC the mobs, grab the objective, then kill them

Not all my toons have that capability.

This wasn’t a problem when they had shared nodes. For some reason they brought back fighting over quest objectives.

I play all 12 classes everyone has something that distracts or cc’s even Priests can throw their Fiend at mobs then hit Fade to drop all aggro from themselves. Fury Warrior can gather a bunch of mobs together then drop the AOE fear send them all scattering to grab, then leap away.
Here is the thing, the quest objective isn’t YOURS. Everyone else is on the quest so they have just as much a right to the objective as you.
And what do you think blizz can even “do about it”? Tell everyone they have to form a line and wait? Absurd.

This have been going on since vanilla. It will never stop, there will always be people like that.
A couple of ideas are as follows:
- Set it that if there is combat within a certain distance, the objective is unusable.
- Link the mobs to said objectives and can’t be tapped until said mob is dead.
Players could also be a little less rude and self absorbed?

So no one else can play? They have to wait for you or whoever? Again, absurd.
When I’m running those quests on my eighth guy and have nine more still to go I am going to go as fast as possible. It isn’t rude to take something there for anyone, and my time is valuable to me so I’m not going to sit and wait.

In all fairness, i almost never steal quest nodes from alliance players, unless they did so to me first. But horde is fair game.
Also i will say i didnt “notice” this problem in BFA until we had the 8.3 assaults, i mean we have several dozen if not hundreds of players sharded making use of half a zone. I would have kind of expected this issue.
You know what people usually do in Classic? Group up because it’s not worth it to fight over quests the majority of the time. Even if the quest is not able to be shared across party-goers it’s just more efficient to share kills and both work towards the quest objective together rather than fight over each other. “Sniping” objectives still happens, but it’s far less prevalent.
But retail has quick respawning mobs, overall difficulty is usually a joke, and since mobs are always shared (unlike quest nodes) that gives people reason to tag mobs and run off to the objective and then maybe help finish it off if it’s still alive. We see players as obstacles in retail these days rather than help because there’s no incentive to group up and help each other out.
If it’s a alliance i show common courtesy and don’t take thier item they are fighting for. If it’s horde I take it, they are the enemy.

Thats why we have warmode, so alliance can group up and get killed by larger groups of horde, thus helping them complete their weekly pvp quest.
This isn’t a patch of Anchor Weed everyone wants or something tho. The narrative of the assault is everyone working together to push back the Black Empire. That Blizzard made it an every player for themselves situation is a ludonarrative fail. And that’s before going into War Mode.
It is rude when you see someone put in the effort to clear that objective and you run in and take what that person worked are to clear to.

I think its because they are in the old zones?
Only reason they’d go backwards instead of forwards… then again they do have some WQs like the pet and boss ones so dailies are still a mystery but the shared objectives I really want to believe are a technical thing.
On topic I try not to swipe stuff, I find usually DHs are the rudest, leap in to snipe they run off asap.
