Quest line bugged

Quest name: Time for a Recharge
Issue: didnt seem to drop when it was supposed to off of NPC.
Specfically trying to get the Rechargeable Reaves Battery, but after running Modular Modifications, I got quest Here comes the Boom, but didnt get the Time For a Recharge.
NOt even sure how I couild have moved on to the next quest without getting Time for a Recharge completed?

Trying to get the Rechargeable Reaves Battery from “Time for a Recharge” quest.
for some reason the quest didnt drop. I was watching the rewards for the Battery as Im running the quests, realized it was taking too long then then checked, and it seems to not have dropped at all or something after I finished Modular Modifications.
I ran the snippet of code on Wowhead to see if the quest had been completed
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(46128))
But it shows ‘false’.
Cant even begin to figure out how I moved on to the next quests without that one being completed since its an entire questline (?)

I know Im past that point because I got the quest Here comes the Boom, Fire and Forget…all the way up thru Wibbly-Wobbly, Timey-Wimey because I have the Intra-Dalaran Wormhole generator showing on the Learned list, which is well after I should have gotten the Rechargeable Battery.

Game Master Piryomthis here, but you may call me Pyro. ᗜ( `⌂´)¤=:::::>

My apologies for not having appeared much sooner upon your summons. We have been experiencing a larger than usual tickets in queue for ours games, but we wish to come to the rescue and help all of our players. I shall address your request now.

So in regards to your ticket: I understand that you are having some difficulties in picking up “Time for a Recharge” quest. I know how important this is so I will provide the necessary information to you in regards to this topic. +

After a serious investigation, in order to pick up “Time for a Recharge”, you must pick a quest that you have abandoned and complete it, which in this case its “Assault on Violet Hold: Cheating Death”. I will proivde a link below from WoW Head as on the right side of the page lists which quests are in order:
https://www.wowhead.com/quest=40878/assault-on-violet-hold-cheating-death

Should you have any more concerns or questions, please do not hesitate in contacting us.

I sure hope that you have an Epic day xxxxxxxx!

thanks for the response.
I ran the quest you mentioned, Assault on Violet Hold: Cheating Death, then also the other, Halls of Valor: Trigger Happy.
I turned in both quests.
The next quest on the list is “It’s On With Automatons”.
It didnt drop either, lol.
Neither Hobart or Didi are offering any quests in the questline after turning the two dungeon quests in.

Game Master Enlerbel is here ready to guide you!

We want to thank you for contacting us!

After a research I was not able to find any reports on this matter and it can be a new starting point for a new issue, and for that, I would kindly ask you to submit a bug report for this situation which will be faster for the developers to investigate and get into a faster conclusion.

We advise the players to submit a bug report so that our developers can have a look into it and investigate for a faster solution, for that, you just need to follow this link:
https://support.blizzard.com/article/000015043

This will send your text report along with a little character information from the game to our developers.

Thank you for reporting this as quick as you could! It might take some time so we ask you to be patience until all the investigation is made.

We also want to thank you for being such a dedicated player, players like you are the ones making this game even better!

Sincerely,
GM Enlerbel

…and so here I am.

I feel there might be some misunderstanding between Customer Service and yourself, mainly due to the fact that WoW GMs don’t explicitly shut down the idea that personal customer service will continue via the bug report forums. It will not.

Basically users drop bug reports here, and are supposed to move on from the issue. I’d save you the wasted time by making clear the fact that waiting on a resolution based solely on this report is futile.

A bug report is something that gets worked on at some undetermined future date, depending on how bad the bug is; GMs should really indicate that putting in a bug report is the end of a player’s involvement with the issue. Very (extremely) rarely will Blizzard ask for more information from a Bug Report post, and even rarer than that is them fixing issues for an individual user via Bug Report.

To be clear, Blizzard does value the bug report, and at some point will certainly look into this issue. Could be weeks or months, though, and a Bug Report post won’t result in the item being given to you or your quest-line being reset. Most likely, if a bug is present here, it’ll be fixed in a future patch for those attempting these quests, going forward.

If you want more than just to make a report, you’re going to want to post in Customer Support. The CS folks can generally find out if a bug is really happening (you may have, unknowingly, made some mistake; that’s common) and then guide you towards resolution.

I guarantee no results, please keep that in mind. I can guarantee, however, that folks over in CS will chime in and offer help, which is generally quite a bit more than you get in Bug Report.

Keep the CS post simple; I wouldn’t move this post there as it’s far too detailed. None of your previous interactions needs to be detailed when you post over in CS. Simply say something like:

“I am trying to get the Rechargeable Reaves Battery from (whatever quest). I finished the quest, I never got the item. I ran this script (copy/paste the script) and it shows completion of the quest as ‘false’. I now believe I have no way to get the battery. Help!”

I mean, it could be a display issue, it could be some confusion on your part, it could be something simple that folks will help you figure out.

Good luck.

I think its a bug because its worked fine for some characters, and completely chumped out for others.
Not sure why I was thinking he meant post it here. probably the ‘bug report’ title of the sub forum, lol

He/she/they did mean to post it here. Like I said, they aren’t very clear when it comes to detailing what Bug Report is actually for.

Bug Report is to report and move on.

Customer Support is for more immediate resolutions, especially with missing items that should be in your bags or collections.

So, the reason I posted here is:

  • If you don’t really care about the battery, you can just leave the Bug Report here and not worry about it any more. At some undetermined point in the future, you might find the battery in your bags, or the bug otherwise resolved.

  • If you do care about obtaining the battery in some sort of timely manner, the Bug Report by itself won’t help. You need to go further by asking in CS.

If Blizz’ GMs detailed this in their responses, it’d make life a bit easier for users.

thanks for the help. If it is a bug it needs to be looked at.
Id hate to have the entire questline screwed up, I enjoy running it.
