I’m wondering if this is just pure blind luck, or whether some quest item drop rates may have been increased?
In the past few days, I have completed the Goretusk Liver and Westfall Stew quests in Westfall, and the Buzzbox quest in Darkshore on a couple of alts.
In all cases, the drops came extremely easily and quickly. When I compare this to my main’s experience levelling through, it took considerably longer to get these items - multiple times longer, in fact (today, the Buzzbox quest saw me kill 3 Threshers, for 3 eyes, where previously this took in excess of around 10 Threshers to obtain).
Has anyone else noticed the same, or is this just a little RNG finally smiling my way?

I am currently doing the 16 satyr horns questin in ashenvale (horde) and after 15+ satyrs i got 2 horns. So in a week or so i might have all. I can not say wether thats correct or feels correctly but it sure as hell sounds like utter crap. Fak this quest.

i just did the westfall stew on my alt and it took about 40 bird kills to get the stringy vulture meat so id say you got real lucky. also took about 60 kills to get 8 gnoll paws

I feel some quests have been much friendlier this time around opposed to how I remembered them.
The Hillsbrad quest to collect Murloc heads was an example of that.
Soloing, I must’ve drove those murlocs into near extinction and could not for the life of me get them to drop their own head… yep, you heard that correctly.
This time around though, did it with a near full pt slaughtering them up and down the coast and it was a breeze.
Took me over 1 hour (2 hours was an exaggeration) to get 10 pendants in a Lakeshire quest, so no.
Sometimes items drop faster, sometimes it’s very rare.
It was like that back in 2005 too.

Wait til you get the Dream Dust quest for Swamp of Sorrows, or even a quest like Sida’s bag.
Dream Dust literally took me killing over 60 dragons to get 10 dust.
I’ve done Goretusk Liver Pies on 5 characters so far.
Some have gotten it on the way to Sentinal Hill for the first time, 1 character had to straight up abandon the quest because I completed the entirety of Westfall and was outleveling it.
Ashenvale is terrible for both sides tbh. Get your blues and scoot to better zones

One quest I did in darkshore on my alt, the grizzly scalp or whatever. I got all but one of them off every mob I killed. The last one took over 20.
I think part of it was that we were younger, more impatient, and probably a bit worse/laggier at the game when it first released. Now that we know what we’re doing and have the benefit of memory/internet troves of information, it’s a bit smoother. Can you still get screwed over by Zevhra hooves? Yes. Absolutely. But it’s still the roll of the dice. We just remember the one time it took eight hours easier than the eight times it took one hour.

Silvery Claws in Felwood - killed over 20 wolves and bears before I got 1 claw, then the next 10 were a 50% drop rate.
