You have to download Questie to see quest markers on all the classic servers at this time. The game does not have quest “trackers” turned on if you are talking about classic, if retail there is something wrong with your UI.

Well, this is retail that I’m talking about. And the screenshots are from retail.
The quests that show up on the map view are the next quests in the main story arc(s) and campaigns.

Is there any way to display side quests on the world map?
Not without an add-on as far as I’m aware.
(I’m afraid I cannot give you any advice on which ones to try)
