i try to do the quest "Destiny Unfulfilled"but when i zone in and it start, i can’t do anything. can’t kill or do any abilities. have try to reload and i have try to delete the quest and start over but does not work

I am experiencing the same problem i went to do this quest and unable to target any of the enemies or do any damage.

I just ran into this same problem. I disabled all addons, exited the game, dismissed my pet (warlock) and I still can’t attack anyone and they just attack thin air at the back of the arena.

I am experiencing the same thing!! No addons, and deleting quest doesnt work either.

Same. Im in the quest but the NPC wont attack me and I cant attack them.

Well, I had the same problem and the NPC were attacking me. I just stand there and waited to die. It took like 7 minutes to do every stages.

Can confirm bug exists, was attempting on my 50 warrior just now. All targets are orange “unfriendly” and just swing/cast into the void. Was able to target once the fire elementals summon as my original character but unable to cast abilities due to “no melee weapons equipped” and character was invisible.

same thing, disabled all add ons, dismissed pet… nothing will work… guess i will just stand here and die lol

Same thing here. I can’t complete the quest, no matter what I do to try and get it fixed.

edit: i just sat there and let it do it’s thing and it completed for me, even though I couldn’t attack anything. Maybe try that?

Same for me. Disabled all add-ons and just sat through it. I, however, skipped the end cutscene and didn’t complete the quest…

I’m here to report that I’m experiencing this issue as well. I unequipped all my addons, relogged, annddd I can’t attack as Illidan. Ugh, I love this quest, but this bug is annoying.

Edit: I was able to complete it, but was not able to attack throughout the encounter. Make sure if you do it, just let them kill you. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE. The cutscene took a good minute to load before I completed the quest.

Yep, can confirm, new quest mechanic: go AFK and get some coffee.
It’s still very much bugged.
Glad I came here and read this first before dropping the quest and flying all the way back. Thanks guys!

Workaround

So I was having all the same issues as you folks, however the entire event seems to sort itself out if you just go afk. The phases all pass on their own and eventually the quest gets completed.

You can beat it pretty quickly if you are a class with a pet.
in phase 2 you summon it while invisible, its an easy raid wipe.
Azerite works as well
Totems would probably work too

Yep, same issue here as well. Used to love this quest, now just gotta stay afk until it completes with Illidan dying.

Fix your BS, Activision.
