In the same boat, waited a week and half with not very useful gm responses, then finally got a message that didn’t feel like it was auto generated.
Was told how they actually fixed this very quest issue in vanilla but aren’t allowed to in classic. So anyone with this bug is SOL basically.
Another run to Gnomer today for Crowd Pummelers for raid. The time loss due to this bug not being fixed grows.
oh wow, hate to say it but … you know that one bug you really hated in the past that we fixed? its still there!

its a waste of time opening tickets for this, the days where gms would show up in person to fix stuff or give players items are long gone.
Yep their CS has taken a nose dive in recent years. Here’s the charming response I got from a GM about the Gnomer teleport quest chain.

Unfortunately, if the workaround that I gathered from our resources here cannot work, then I am afraid that this can only goes to the Bug Report. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused about this issue, but as far as I know, Gnomeregan isn’t very popular to the Horde and as an Alliance myself, I only went to this dungeon once when I was 30s to just get the XP from quests. It seems like this dungeon isn’t very valuable especially when we hit 60, most of the time should be running on the UBRS, Scholomance, Stratholme etc. Hence I believe it is safe to just skip this one and working on the pre-raid BIS gears.
Feels great to be a feral druid in classic. How difficult is it for them just to grant the item or progress the quest. Either they’re powerless and it’s pointless having GMs, or they’ve been told never to assist players regarding quests.
Wish I had found this thread before wasting my time with a ticket.
I understand Classic WoW has a lot of issues, but GMs not being able to grant horde players the item due to a known bug is pretty horse crap.
Opening a ticket when i get home. This is unacceptable. Might just cancel sub. As if feral wasn’t already a pain to min max. Im not 15 anymore. Already pushing my play time to the max

Another few trips to Gnomer to farm Manual Crowd pummlers, and more time wasted by Blizzard. Fixing known bugs like this should happen, or a minimum an item reward for the transponder should be an acceptable work around. It’s not as if it’s rewarding any equipable gear.
wow, sorry but reading that response is sad. They basically just told you how to play an MMORPG. even if there was not an item that is good for you as a feral druid, them telling you to “just skip this one and working on the pre-raid BIS gears.” is pretty bad.
The reason you are going should not matter to why you have submitted the bug in the first place.
Still no fix, fug.
I waited a week and opened a new ticket and got a different GM who was very helpful.
My issue has been resolved!
The GM progressed my quest to have “Chief Engineer Scooty” flagged as completed - one quick trip to Booty Bay and that beautiful golden “?” was waiting for me at Scooty!
I’ll post the version of my successful ticket in the hopes it helps the rest of you make the issue clear to other GMs:

Unable to progress Rig Wars quest in Orgrimmar - this quest chain is necessary for Horde to gain the item Goblin Transponder (link to goblin transponder wowhead item) which allow Horde to teleport from Booty Bay to Gnomeregan. It’s very important for feral druids (like myself) to farm their BiS item Manual Crowd Pummler (BiS for all of classic).
I cannot complete the above quest as Sovik (the goblin next to Nogg) does not have the dialogue for the next step. This was a known bug in Vanilla WoW that was never fixed.
According to GMs past, the issue arises because of an unintentional bug where upon completing “STOLEN: Smithing Tuyere and Lookout’s Spyglass” in Searing Gorge the quest “Chief Engineer Scooty” becomes flagged as completed. “Chief Engineer Scooty” is the quest I need to accept from Sovik in Orgrimmar to continue this quest chain.

I filed a ticket for this bug, the first GM was useless and doesn’t know what I’m talking about. However, the second GM figured out what happened and completed the quest for me and the Goblin Transponder is sent to me in the inventort the next time I logged in. Really appreciated GMs that can actually solve problems, we need more of them.

Kudos to you for having the patience to go through the GM system, i did that and after 5 GMs acting clueless about this issue i just gave up. The good GMs deserve positive surveys every single time.

Listen, as a FERAL DRUID DPS my guild REQUIRES me to farm MANUAL CROWD PUMMELER to run RAIDS. I am a HORDE player, I can’t RUN to Dun Morogh everytime I need to farm the ***** thing because game mechanics require me to get this to do optimal dps.

I just want to report that after opening a fresh ticket I finally got my transponder! The first GM gave me the copy+paste response, but I replied to a link with the thread and finally got this fixed with the second GM on the new ticket.
It looks like this bug was fixed, I was able to go and get the quest even though I had the bug when I first leveled. I just want to say thank you to the blizzard staff for looking into this and eventually apply a fix. I know you guys are probably so busy, but its nice to see you respond to issues even in classic. TY DEVS/GMS!!

How was this suddenly fixed? I encountered the bug two days ago (Nov 13) which is three days after your post. Sent in my ticket as Zarende had and even referenced a link that pointed how that GM solved it. Got my response back today (Nov 15) saying they shouldn’t have done that and it would only be for extreme and individual circumstances…and that it sucks to suck.
Sounds like it’s worth sending more tickets until I get the right GM? Chime in so I don’t feel alone lol
You can’t pick the quest up until you accept the quest “Rig Wars” from Nogg right next to Sovik in the same room.
After you take that quest, you should be able to pick up “Chief Engineer Scooty”.
