This quest was shared with me a couple of days ago while on my undead mage. It is supposed to be “The Horde Needs Purple Lotus!”, but the quest actually says “The Alliance Needs Purple Lotus!”. And all of the rewards are for Alliance.
According to wowhead there is no alliance quest for purple lotus, so it has to be an odd bug. I just thought it was worth a chuckle.

From what I have read on Wowhead, it’s only a Classic quest now. hmmmm
If I recall correctly, that entire series of quests became obsolete after Cataclysm, maybe earlier (like the opening of Ahn’qiraj). I think you got pranked with a dead quest, apparently carried by someone who faction changed after picking it up.

I got it too, but in my case I’m alliance.
That’s weird. I wonder if’s not a bug like, they update something in the WoW Classic and then also activated in retail
