Quest Bug: Escape From Shaz'gul

Trying to complete this quest (you have to escort Yrel out of Shaz'gul). At one point toward the end she gets swarmed by TONS of mobs who kill her in a matter of milliseconds. Tried multiple times and always ended up with her dying, then me. Obviously it's not supposed to be like this. Please fix.

This is still totally bugged. I have tried it multiple times with the same result. I have also watched others ending up getting the same result.

As of today, it’s still bugged. The good news is that Yrel now simply do not die - her HP stops going down at about 60% - but she doesn’t generate much aggro. So, about 100 wolves will gang up on her, and the only way to do it is to pick the wolves ONE BY ONE, as if you do any sort of AoE attack all the wolves will target you and you’ll die in a blink.

Still very bugged, now it will spawn them a second time after the initial group. If there is another person doing the quest, they get the same amount again.

I came here to see if it was a bug or if that was the way the quest was supposed to be because it’s impossible… even if I heal myself the whole time I somehow get tons of wolves attacking me and I die… So I guess it’s still bugged.

I’m playing as of April 22, and this is still bugged

still bugged. tried this 6 times. even tried not attacking anything, she died, the whole mob attacked and killed me

Easy solution. I ran past all the guards with a mount. You’ll come across a giant wolf just outside the gates (shadowfang or something like that). Kill him and the quest will finish.

September 10, 2020. On the eve of the Shadowlands pre-patch, this quest is still bugged. Ran past the giant group to Terrorfang, the group chased me and killed me. Spawned at the graveyard a couple yards away and when I rezzed, Terrorfang was there. Completed quest this way.

It was still bugged earlier this week. I guess they’re not worried about fixing bugs anymore even though this thread started in mid 2018.

Wow, I’m glad it’s actually bugged, I was so confused. But honestly, it’s uh…not a good sign that it’s been bugged for this long.

Still bugged.
However, do the following:

  1. Talk to Yrel to start
  2. Ignore her and go directly to 39, 51. Terrorfang will be there.
  3. Kill Terrorfang
  4. Quest complete
  5. Wonder why this quest hasn’t been fixed in over 2 YEARS.

As of 3/4/2021 it is still bugged.

Wish I knew about skipping to Terrorfang; would have saved me a headache.
