Quest bloat at max level

Is there anyone else that gets overwhelmed when they hit level 70 on an alt and head to Valdrakken?

The amount of (!) everywhere just makes me go from excited to hit level cap to logging off in the span of 10 minutes.

I then tend to just restart the treadmill and level another alt.

I wish there was a system in game that allowed us to disable (!)'s that were not part of a main story. We have the option to disable low level quests, but why can’t we have an option to disable side quests?

I know it is a first world problems kinda thing, but quest bloat is so massive this expansion compared to any other release. I just wanna be able to hide the quests other than Main Story stuff.

I know there are addons that turn off the icons on the minimap, but I wish there was an option to disable the overheads.

Cheers folks.

yes. I have stopped doing any end game content because I get into valdrakken and suddenly there’s quests EVERYWHERE… to the point I don’t know where to start so I just either log off or log into alts or do other things like old raids. … It’s great that there’s alot to do but is there such a thing as TOO much to do? I don’t know.

Not really, I just don’t do the stuff I don’t want to do.

A related problem is on an alt, all the stories seem to open at once. Forbidden Reach, the Niffen, the Time Rifts, and so forth, all at once. These things need to be offered one at a time with an option to skip if you want. Add all the weekly things and the log gets overrune fast!

This was me. I just spent days clearing out the place.

They need an option where you can just opt to having all quests auto complete without rewards or rep if youre max and have done them before.

I just wanna endgame pillar not redo setting up a spa or w/e

I just ignore them unless I want to do them but I do wish there was a way to just make the ! Go away as someone with a bit of ocd the clutter of them on the map bothers me lol.

I suggest dumping your quest log and than picking up the main quests. Save side quests for later.

Side quests look like the image on the left. Main story quest look like the image on the right:

You can bust out most of the main quests in fairly short order.

Moo!

Honestly…I sorta just ignore it or tune it out. If it’s not something I’m working on right now, then I really don’t pay it any mind. I get it though, I have OCD and dislike clutter and unfinished things too

I agree about the MOUNTAIN of other stuff to do just after you finished the other mountain of quests to get to 70.

What really irritates me the most are all the (!) that relentlessly follows you around until you finally accept a quest that you have no intention of completing - which then takes up room in your quest log. So annoying

Yes. I do appreciate having so much choice, but it’s delivered like a shotgun blast that’s just overwhelming. I’d rather discover content out in the open world than have so many quest givers vying for my attention.

Why can Blizzard never do things in moderation? In Shadowlands we complained that there wasn’t enough zone content and variety, so now they go way overboard with it and flood us with it. Everything is always feast or famine with them.

You make good points about inconsistencies. I have a feeling the cause is the drastic changes in staffing we’ve all heard about due to people leaving for many reasons. It must be very difficult to manage product consistency in a creative workplace with staffing issues.

In a lot of creative environments you see factions develop who have opposing visions. The result is that rather than seeing moderation between the opposing viewpoints, you get wild swings from one to the other.

That sounds like a case of poor project management.

Yep. When the one(s) in charge make it a competition.

I love questing, so all of the side quests are awesome this expansion, however I do agree there should be a way to turn them off if you want to. There are plenty of quests that still pop up each week that are yellow like they are new quests, and I don’t do them, like BGs and the like…and would love to shut them off so when something new pops up I know where to go and get it. Or I wish the repeatable quests each week would turn blue like dailies…or something. I don’t always remember the quest names when I see them and end up clicking the same npc every couple of weeks thinking it’s a new quest I’ll want to do, ha. A me problem, I know.

Yeah it’s way too much. There are a lot of quests that could be cut.

I get especially annoyed at the little animal quests that force you to either accept it or have an NPC follow you forever

I’ve leveled a lot of chars to 70 in DF. I have a really good understanding of what every single quest marker in DF means. 2 of my 70s are DF quest complete, the rest I gave up on and they just have quests everywhere. Ignore em. Once you seen em once, just do the thing you wanted to do on the alts.

I would show off one of my blingy DF chars but for some reason I can’t see them on the forums right now. Gotta get properly logged out and in again I think which is a pain in the butt because of WoW forums preposterously bloated cookie tree lol

I always pick up the quests in a city then go turn them in to where ever they send me then just not continue unless I want to. Kind of like putting things in the garage.

The quest log could use a major overhaul.

I just ignore what I don’t feel like doing. That is, until they have a quest-giver follow me all over the island until I accept the damn thing.
