It does not work for my mage who is lvl 48 works om my lvl 50 char. was this a bug or miss print on event page.

I am experiencing the same issue. i just boosted this shaman to lvl 48 expecting to participate in the scourge event and hopefully get to 50. “An urgent request” appeared as soon as I finished the boost intro. I accepted it and see the question mark on Genn Greymane but when I try to turn it in, I get an error sound and a message that I’m too low level.
I’m having the same problem on my warlock. I just dinged 48 about an hour ago, tried logging out and back in and nothing happened - no quest popped up.
I am having this problem with my character as well, I cannot access this quest even at 49. I guess this is intentional, but it was originally for below 50s as well so maybe its a bug.
Lvl 49 and the quest will not pop.
Would love to have an answer for this, one way or the other, before the event is over.
it says on the preview that its only for lvl 50s now 
and in the blog they updated it to 50 instead of 48. Not sure why it got changed.
Way to screw lowbie toons out of having fun. I was kind of hoping they would have followed what they did with the Legion pre-launch event - anyone from level 10 (well, level 10 from that time) on up could join in the battles.
What and have toons that are not lvl 50 get some gear to start sl with . Are you out of your mind to think activbizzard would care how bad alts gear going into sl ?
