QUERY: What new class theory do you despise?

The power sources for these is all magic. Alchemical at best, downright witchy at the most obvious.

Why do you think we don’t have a real Iron Man IRL? It had nothing to do with fancy materials, it’s all down to the power source.

It’s the theme behind all professions, not just engineering.

Except that isn’t what a class would do. A Tinker class would use tech-based abilities to perform class roles. So it wouldn’t encroach on engineers at all. A Tinker leading a raid inside a mobile suit has nothing to do with a warrior cobbling materials together to make a pair of goggles.

Are you playing a mobile suit or a character? Seems like the same problem earlier forms of Beast Mastery faced.

Can’t Hunters summon robots now anyways?

Edit: The more I think about this, better pet diversity and off-role capacity for the Hunter class would be “Tinker” as described. We’re basically talking Dire Beast for short term robots and then taming niche mech pets… And healing robots are just Goblin totems.

He’s still drunk from Arcwine, so just bare with it.

There is a real iron man every year, just saying.

MOCKERY: This argument is basically calling all modern day cellphones magic.

Tanks and warplanes are irl mech suits.

One is just 3 man operated while jets are single man operated.

d) a spec like what lord Godfrey does. I believe he is a shadow priest who channels that shadow power through the bullets in his pistols. That is pretty awesome to me so a spec that revolves around that and accompanying that I think would be a blast.

I just want to second that a priest spec that uses ranged weapons (guns) and holy or shadow magic like some kind of warhammer witch hunter sounds pretty metal. Could even call it inquisitor or witch hunter (Not like it’s copyright or anything).

Seriously, that actually sounds pretty fun. Could even introduce a new weapons type (pistols) for an expansion.

I don’t like Tinkers because I feel like Engineering will become even more lifeless - or get removed - because of the class.

Tinker… it makes me think of GW2 engineers, which I also find it incredibly lame.

Also, Tinker and Engineer classes tend to revolve around turrets. They already removed Searing Totem, overtly stating that they’re too passive and they like to encourage people to move.

COMMENTARY: Kind of meh Argument when Demonic Tyrant is basically a turret and is the premier CD for demonology warlocks.

It’s not locked in place, to my recollection.

You’re playing a character piloting a machine. The character outside the machine has abilities, and the character inside the machine will have different abilities. You would have abilities that allow you to rapidly enter and exit the machine, and abilities based on the weapons of the machine.

Taming robotic animals == piloting mobile suits.

Taming robotic animals == summoning robotic devices

It’s too passive because only one searing totems could only be summoned for its duration, and they had no interactivity. Tinker turrets (if using HotS as a template) then they won’t be passive because you can summon more than one at a time, and they’re upgradable.

We’re talking completely different orders of magnitude here. A tiny trickle of energy will run a phone, while it takes loads to move any object.

For me it’s bards. They have no lore, no precedent and don’t even fit the games namesake world of warcraft.

It does not help that every iteration of Bard I run into is a person that objectives women or a flat out coward. Stuff like that has no place here in the mmo world.

It is, it can shoot through LOS

Well this thread has certaintly exploded since I slept, clearly a lot of people have serious opinions on Tinkers.

But, I feel like I should answer this comment. Because you actually answer it yourself, Keldar.

I beleive you are Correct. Vulpera are resorceful, and clever. but they aren’t defined by their advanced intelligence like gnomes or goblins. No moreso than any other race.
This is why I personally think that a Tinker Class shouldn’t be very restricted.

After all, Machinery and Technology is just Science. It can be taught and explained to other races with no real boundary.

This is unlike Shamanism, for example. Which is shown to be flakey in some cases, and simply not answer to some people, or even the Fel, which some races abhor using outright.

Technology isn’t limited in those regards. But I could understand limiting away from Races that are so culturally regressive that Technology goes against their ways.
Trolls, Tauren, and Night Elves all come to mind. 3 Races that are both very religious and stuck in their ways.

Hunters have always been themed around Nature and Animals and Will always be themed around Nature and Animals.

You buff yourself with Animal Aspects, You tame and control Animals, You summon Animals to help you do damage, You have poisionous arrows based on different animal venoms.

This is a Good theme for hunter to stay with.
A Tinker Class should be something entirely seperate, and be Ranged DPS, Ranged Healer, Melee Tank combo. Like we saw from BFA.

Dark rangers, if only because the fans of the concept at the time of WoD were completely willing to sacrifice marksmanship spec and everyone happily playing MM spec in order to get their edgelord mcdarkitydark spec.
