Quel’thalas Revamp When?

Please please please please please. “They won’t touch previous expansion content” is a dumb excuse. Tons of previous expansion content has been phased and revamped. Imagine a Silvermoon/QT akin to Suramar.

For all the Horde Bias that gets thrown around, you’d think that would mean Blizz would be updating the city of the most popular WoW race.

Would be nice if they could make it part of the Eastern Kingdoms and not be on an Outland server.

Also Azuremyst is an incredibly bland zone. They could really make it cool and interesting, bring it in to 2020, show the relationship between lightforged and Draenei. Velen update. Legion remnant/Sargeras hints. Etc etc.

Hordies love to say this when the Exodar is also linked with Silvermoon and it ain’t getting an update anytime soon either.

If I were a conspiracy theorist i would claim it’s precisely BECAUSE silvermoon is linked with the exodar as to why it won’t be updated becuase- “Eww, Alliance content!”

The Horde are just getting bit by the devs own bias by association… that’s If were a conspiracy theorist, however.

Wrong again, if it was Horde Bias it would have been updated ages ago.

As someone who spends a lot of time in Silvermoon, I would be elated to have it fully rebuilt but it’ll never happen.

my hope is we come back and the void has conquered most of azeroth but a some zones. Two of them being Silvermoon / Eversong woods, with the ghostlands being a hot zone and Exodar / azure myst isles and blood myst isle being a hot zone. These two good zones are the next main staging areas / capital cities as we go and fight against the void thus these zones get massive revamps / updates.

I don’t see them revamping Silvermoon (or the Exodar) individually just because. It’ll probably take either a whole world revamp a la Cata or them deciding to do a content patch there to have anything done with it.

My dream would be that they introduce revamped zones in a Shadowlands patch. Maybe just one or two for version 9.1? I’m not too interested in staying in the Shadowlands. Let’s just be done with it and get a zone revamp.

if they’re really gonna do a timeskip after shadowlands(which it’s looking likely, given some statements shortly after you arrive there in the intro), then i could see an update coming to almost the entire world.

we’re probably gonna come back to azeroth to find several places ravaged by the light or something.

I foresee Silvermoon becoming a prominent city for the Horde in the post time skip world. After the fall of Undercity and the Inquisition which has hunted down most of the Forsaken, the Forsaken survivors have taken refuge in the sewers beneath Silvermoon. Silvermoon becomes a massive tiered city - a beautiful modern city above ground with all the features expected of a major hub, and a disgusting slime pit for the Forsaken gutter-speakers below ground.

Azuremyst is tranquil and beautiful. Take your awful suggestions elsewhere

Sick omg by the way

They still havent added flying to the zones. Pretty lame.

Because Blizzard adds relevant content to those areas. What would Silvermoon bring?

i’m nearly positive it will be the light, instead of the void. we just dealt with one of the major void threats, it’ll take time for that to build back up.

the light though, they laid that little nugget with yrel, and now in shadowlands there’s evidence of light hostility. two captured naaru, one dark and one still light, and revendreth has an entire section of it scorched to ash from when the light invaded(presumably, this is when the naaru were captured).

if this post-time skip azeroth is going to update quel’thalas, and IF it involves the light, i could potentially see the light using the sunwell as a portal into azeroth, like kil’jaeden did, and like the void kind of tried to do when alleria touched it.

so instead of WoD pre-patch 2.0 with a light portal now in the dark portal and yrel coming through, it’ll be WoD pre-patch 2.5 with yrel and the light mother coming through quel’thalas and beginning their convert or kill campaign there.

It’s kind of the other way around. Exodar is fairly self contained and complete. Silvermoon is a dumpster fire of poor choices leading to it being a huge mess whenever viewed from anywhere not on the ground. And the same assets for Silvermoon are also on Sunwell Isle, which would mean that needs fixing too. And Zul’Aman probably needs fixing. It’s just a ton of work.

I’m not sure if this is still the case, but you used to be able to take a mage or priest and jump off the top of one of the Tempest Keep ships and slow fall your way into Quel’Thalas and get a good view of how messed up it is. There might be invisible walls now keeping you from trying it, so it’s probably safer to find a Youtube video of that or maybe an exploration video of uninstanced SWP to see how that’s another weird mess.

I think that eventually, bringing the instanced zones into their proper continents is something that they would like to do, but until said zones become relevant again for some reason beyond the occasional holiday quest, it’s pretty far down the dev chart. I wouldn’t bet on it happening until a major revamp, like a WoW2 type revamp. But, if you like optimism, razing Darnassus and Undercity to make the continents align more closely to faction control schemes might be a start, even if much of these conquests are being relinquished post-war,

Almost definitely probably never.

I don’t think the Blood Elf or Draenei zones will be getting updates because:

  1. Relevance to the story.
  2. Not worth the effort, they are some of the least-used cities.

It would be super awesome though, they are both amazing areas.
