Currently, the queen’s conservatory is a reasonable little ‘passive’ resource generator every 3 days, but there’s currently one main problem: the reliability of obtaining epic wildseeds. You used to have an ok shot at getting them from venari’s weekly quest. but since those have been reformatted as dailies, they are pretty much nonexistent.
Enter the wildseed trader. A very simple concept. For five uncommon wildseeds of the same type, you can purchase a rare wildseed. For five rare wildseeds of the same type, you can obtain an epic. Note by type I mean untamed, dutiful etc.
This would provide a reliable way of obtaining epic wildseeds instead of the complete unfavored RNG they are now, and make the large number of rare wildseeds we can reliably obtain useful.

If they were going to do that, it’d be nice if there was some way to convert types too. Anyone who’s been doing it diligently from the start probably has all the unlocks but it’d be nice for those of us who haven’t.
I haven’t been able to obtain any epic Wild Seeds since 9.1. Are they even still in the game???

As far as I know, you only have a small (10-25%) chance of receiving one either from the rescue 20 souls weekly, or from the elite daily quest in the maw (usually the one in perdition hold). So its entirely possible to go days if not weeks without seeing one. Hence, let us buy them.
You can generate a near infinite supply of them by using the farthest Wildseed that only has one catalyst plot feeding it. Put a temporal leaf in the plot and then use a Wildseed Root Grain Seed you purchase from Seed Merchant Daybreak. You will get 1-2 Wildseed Root Grain every hour for 12 hours (you have to tend to it every hour). I use that last plot just for that purpose - to generate Wildseed Root Grains, Temporal Leaves, and Wild Nightbloom. You will never run out.
Edit: That is unless you are refering to epic spirits, not epic wildseeds… Honestly, they’re nice to have when trying for the four mounts, but once you have those, they don’t serve a useful purpose.
Epic wildseeds? I’d be happy to even have enough of ANY kind of wildseeds to plant every 3 days. As it stands, my conservatory is doing nothing most of the time. The concept was fun, the implementation sucks.
I can’t get rid of them fast enough. I actually vendor all the green ones I get.
As for the “Divine” spirits… you literally only need one of each type in order to get the four mounts - just use four wildseed root grain on the final plot along with the divine spirit and you’re pretty much 100% guaranteed to get the associated mount. At least that’s how it worked for me.
My recollection is that I got all or at least most of my Divine spirits from Ve’nari dailies.
And fwiw, I’m pretty sure you can use the rare quality spirits along with four wildseed root grain on the final plot if you’re after the transmog items as well. The difference between the rare and divine spirits is simply an increased chance of getting the mount/gear/pet you’re looking for according to this chart:
I’m clearly referring to the spirits. The catalysts are trivial.
Indeed they are. And I suppose my point is only that you don’t need Divine Spirits as much as you think you do. Divine increases your chances, but as long as you have a Greater Spirit and four Wildseed Root Grains you will get what you’re after - though it may take a couple extra tries compared to a Divine Spirit. So if you’re hurting for sources of Divine Spirits, just use a Greater for the time being and it will all work out eventually.
I actually just vendored 3 stacks of catalysts and 2 stacks of rare seeds yesterday, when I got the Gulper Soul.
It was the last thing I needed.
I got all the mounts, I got all the pets, I got the transmog that is available for hunters (and I can buy those mogs on my kyrian too so…) and I got the 2 soulshapes.
So literally no reason to do queen’s conservatory anymore.
As for people who want the divine seeds for the mounts - seriously, just level a necrolord character. You can buy 4 of the 6 mounts for 5000 anima each at exalted with the stitchmasters.
The only queen’s conservatory exclusive mount is only from ardenweald spirits, and I got it on my first divine spirit with 4 epic catalysts. (And I got the rare one long ago)
Epic seeds used to come from Venari’s weeklies if you were at rank 4 or above. Since 9.1 turned those weeklies into dailies their drop chance is still from those quests , just the rate got horribly horribly nerfed.
Is that where I have been getting them from? I do the maw dailies just for the chance at seeds but I honestly don’t check which ones I got but I have noticed over the last couple of weeks I had a few epic quality ones and I had no clue where I got them.
You’re missing one mount which doesn’t typically come from a divine seed but usually a greater untamed:
It’s actually much harder to get than the other mounts since it relies much more on rng than the divine 100% drop ones.
I received that one rather early on, though RNG being a thing it will be different for everyone. But it just reinforces my comment that Divine spirits aren’t as important as people think they are. They speed things up a bit, but Greater spirits do just fine and are plentiful. I rarely see Divine spirits anymore, which I think is the crux of OP’s post, but then I don’t really do Maw quests anymore either which is probably why.
