My raid on Queen Ansurek was on Heroic, and the raid was divided into two groups for Reactive Toxin. One of the new players dropped it in a difficult spot, and one of our other raiders went to the other puddle to soak. After this, our raid lead said that this action doubled the DoT on the raid and caused more damage. It didn’t sound correct to me, but I wanted to see if you guys had any more insight on this. Does stacking just miminize the damage to the one bursting?
Raid leader is right. The raid needs to be split evenly to soak the knock up / bombs or you get more stacks of bad.
ex: If you have 20 people in raid your leader needs to put 10 in each bomb, the same person cant pop the bombs each time so they need 3 different people on each side to pop. If you have 21 people splitting 10/11 in each bomb should be okay too.
If the ratio is off basically people get a debuff and take significantly more damage because both bombs have so many stacks that need to be soaked, those stacks amts are based off of your group’s size and are split evenly between the 2 bombs. If all stacks arent soaked you are left with extra leftover stacks that get applied to the group which will make everyone take tons more damage. It might not be a wipe if it’s one person out of their group and if you have great healers, but it will hurt and can cause early deaths which might be impossible to recover from during early progg on Queen.
I think they changed it so that dead people don’t count, and if you have 1 extra person it shouldn’t throw anything out of wack. Not sure on that part though.
So deff make sure the raid is split as even as possible for this mechanic or much more damage is going to go out and your healers will cry.
