Quality of Life Mythic+ Update Needed

So as a player that pugs a lot because my guildmates tend to not do keys often at the level I play on, I have come across many players that will become heated and rage quit keys from being annoyed at their failures/mistakes or other players playing differently/bad. The keys are all timetable so I was wondering if other players like the idea of players being banned from keys that are rage quiting. I believe the half patch (9.2.5) will have a report system for people leaving in the middle of keys. So that is fine but why does the key holder also need to lose a key level from someone griefing?

I think allowing players to reset their dungeon at the same key level would solve these types of complaints as well as implementing a system where players get continuation bans for quiting keys everytime. Players have earned their key level for a reason so let them smash their heads against the new level til they figure out what works. As well as stop griefers from queueing into other keys. It should be similar to how deserter works in pvp in that sense.

Do you guys think keys should be depleted from rage quiters? Are rage quiters relevant from your experience in mythic+ ? I want to hear this as i have seen this from 15s-22s. Mostly frostmourne players which is funny as they have their own general discussions and the QT/ragnaros realms. Those types of players are on every realm but those are consistent with bad experiences for me.

The solution is simple and often repeated: Don’t pug.

The continuing complaints from people who insist on pugging their keys, and then complain about their decision afterwards, has gotten way beyond tiresome.

People leave in the middle of keys because they know they are going to waste their time if they stay. Punishing them won’t make them any more invested in the free time they are losing. It will just make them quit the game. The problem is the game, not the people playing it.

it’s impossible to track if the guy is a ragequitter or just the guy want to abuse the system and reset his key

if you could reset your key because of a ‘’ ragequitter ‘’ , average players would just use it for others reasons

Your going to force people to stay who don’t want to in the key? Good luck with that, report does nothing unless its a mass report. This isn’t FFXIV where the gms actually look at each case and punish people for being toxic and give effort, in wow they don’t care. You cannot police PUG content - if you get annoyed with it, make some friends and run with them. It’s that simple.

Any form of punishment in M+ is an easy way to kill pugs and lessen the pool of players.

There is no way to enforce a ban.

Yes. Make some friends and this takes the problem out.

Is making one of these threads the secret to getting tl4 around here?

The people against this obviously have never done any form of mythic+ above a 15.

When you push, often times guildies in raiding guilds are not up to par with what you need to be to push higher. So you pug in order to network, build your friends list and find people to push with. There is alot of pugging. Especially this expansion with the number of people quitting.

The number of keys that have failed because someone made a mistake , died or did some weird thing then just alt f4’d or left group for no reason is astronomical. The only current solution is addons that allow you to put notes on people signaling whether or not you think they’re alright and discords that allow you to publicly flame or build lists of people you do not want to run with - my wife and I maintained discords like this and when the number of characters reached 500 it became silly, we installed the character notes addon at the start of this season and the number of characters with red notes is over 140 between the two of us.

Something needs to be done to punish the people just throwing keys for no reason. Will there be abuse? Yea. But it’s still better than what we have now.

This is why I’m taking a break from raiding. I get tired of raiding with people who I would kick and black list if it were an M+ group. Raid culture is so backwards - people who are not good at the game get so invested in things that don’t matter instead of getting good.

Just an aside but man it feels so nice to just decide to not raid and free up that time snd take off the burden of raiding.

Someone on a previous thread brought up the idea that m+ should be like torghast layers. You form a group, walk up to a portal, select a dungeon and key level, then enter the dungeon.

Everyone would start with the ability to queue a +2 for all dungeons, beating the timer will then allow access to that same dungeon at +3, +4, or +5 depending on how fast you were.

If you fail a dungeon timer it’s no big deal because you would never lose the ability to queue for the same dungeon at your unlocked level.

If GD had their way, M+ wouldn’t even be worth doing.

Once you get past the rat key levels, people don’t really leave keys.

Like if you fail enough times on a 20ish key, you collectively decide its not able to be timed and either reset or disband.

And on 15s or below for filling the vault, it’s such a joke that this rarely happens

Sigh. Here we go again.

Thousands of keys run since s4 of bfa, most with pugs. Had less than 10 that I remember instances of people leaving.

If people are bailing on your keys so often you think it’s a big issue, maybe take a look in the mirror and analyze why that’s happening?

This should be a copypasta at this point.

Do you also support banning people for underperforming so much that people would rather write off their time spent than spend any more time in the key?

Not even a little bit. I honestly don’t know when the last time I had someone leave a key. A friend said someone left their keys a couple of weeks ago and I was suprised. Almost never happens in my experience which is funny because I play with people from frostmourne pretty much exclusively.

A lot more people would finish keys if the drop count for loot wasn’t tied to timing them.

They’re not? 1 of the 2 pieces downgrades by 3/4 ilvls and that’s it. Finishing is very, very, very, VERY generous.

The only thing you don’t get is IO.

I disagree with this. The playerbase is a huge part of the issues with WoW. That’s not to say there aren’t issues with the game, but there is a massive toxicity problem and you cannot blame the game for it-- it’s not localized to just this one game.

I’m not opposed to something that flags chronic leavers, at all.
