Quality of Life improvements for Shaman

What are reasonable improvements for Shaman in the future? Here’s my wish-list:

-30+ yd lightning Lasso: You have to channel it…that’s not going away. Can we at least get some more range on it? 30+ yards? Why 20 yds on a 5 sec channeled spell??

-Improved Thunderous Paws: Make Thunderous paws talent into a “mini” blessing of freedom. Boosts speed and makes you immune to movement impairing effects for 3 seconds. Right now, Shaman still feels like a wheelchair spec. Spirit walk, with its 1 min cooldown is a joke.

-Reduce Global Cooldown of Ghost Wolf to .5 seconds.

-Improve Winds of Al-Akir: Each active totem increases movement speed by 5%. Current version of it is subpar.

-Make the PvP talent Burrow baseline: Adding a totem that gives you a shield once every 3 mins doesn’t cut it. Shaman defensives are still overall weak. Burrow works well and should be baseline for all 3 specs. Shouldn’t just be a pvp talent, shamans need some defensive love in PvE.

PvP Specific:

-Take grounding totem off the global cooldown.

-Reduce Static Field totem to 60 seconds cooldown. This is what it was before TWW. 1.5 min for this ability is too steep. 60 secs was perfectly fair for it. Either that, or make it so people can’t instantly break out of it. A 1.5 min cooldown that can be instantly negated??

Ya no. Shaman is 100% fine this xpac. Sit down.

Oh look, a hostile weirdo who transmogged no chest armor on a female paladin(lol) with strong arguments. You forgot to add “maladjusted” to your name socially!

Lol. Sees them shine in 1 M+ season and no need to improve anything for the class.

Such a hater.

Yup. If you notice there’s no argument. Just the super cool tough guy “Sit Down” lol

Every season its the same thing on the forums. Rather then players pushing for Blizz to improve other classes to bring them to par in M+, they cry for nerfs.

Different class each season but the end result is the same. Blizz maybe nerfs the class (usually not) and the next season has the same M+ related issues.

Funny thing is all the reasons RSham is loved now were there in DF for all 4 seasons. Poison Clense, Range Interrupt, Stun, and 25s Knockup were all there…so what changed other then the M+ affixes and time penalties did? Just proves its a bad M+ design that will just repeat in other seasons with other classes who can easily deal with affixes.

For sure. R-Sham isn’t in totally broken, unfair territory. It’s just strong. It has a good arsenal. Why not bring up other healers a bit?

I feel like the game would be better if you established a stronger baseline for specs instead of making sure they get pounded into the dirt whenever they feel solid.

Nothing I outlined in the original post is game changing either. Giving Lasso a longer range or improving thunderous paws? What’s so earth shattering about that?

I rerolled shaman from resto druid and I can fairly say: Shaman is a QoL in itself. Any group looks for shaman. No QoL needed

A QoL. not a buff. that I would like is a simpler way to keep up all the self buffs needed. Whether that just be “permanently on” or not dropping as often.

I feel like when I start a key, when I zone in, I have like 4 buffs on a cast sequence macro to get started.

Lightning Shield. Earth Shield. Shield buff. Shaman buff

Do the personal ones. LS, ES, shield buff. Need an expiration ever? Even due combat. Do I need to have a reason to recast LS/ES ever?

I’m not just talking about Rsham. Right now I know it’s strong in M+, but it doesn’t mean it will stay that way for the entirety of the expansion.

That’s also in PvE. In PvP, which some people still play, Rsham is pretty mediocre. Probably towards the weaker end right now.
