Quality of life changes (soul shards)

Since we’re doing quality of life changes can we remove the soul shard requirement to cast shadow burn?
Currently the ability functions by using a soul shard on use and then refunding the soul shard if the target dies within 5 seconds. However, if the target resists the ability the soul shard is lost.
This is especially annoying in battlegrounds since the largest soul shard bag is currently 16 soul shards.

To put things into perspective, imagine if mages needed a reagent whenever they wanted to cast fire blast.

At that point, why not just remove soul shards entirely?

As a Warlock main listening to Mages complain about making water and having to drink after, as I’m over here summoning the group and making Healthstones, each of which cost a Soul Shard AND MANA.

2 Warlocks making Healthstones for a 40m raid for Naxx was miserable.

Locks should be more common in SOD, lowering this burden.

Warlocks are never a popular class.
looking at Warcraft logs there are currently in total 841,258 warlock parses in total (tanks and dps).
I’m going to list every class that’s currently got a higher total number of parses regardless of role.
Hunter
Warrior
Rogue
Druid
Mages
Priest

So they’re the least popular class unless you count faction-locked classes.

My point stands, more popular than in Era due to Meta form.

Yeah, only the tank gets them there lol. I’ve had to remind people there aren’t enough mobs in the raid for me to keep up on shards.
