Quaking; Tune it properly

Either double the internal cooldown or only apply it to half the group (100% random targets).

As it stands, wildly too annoying and quite frankly not worth dealing with.

What? You don’t enjoy having to do stack mechanics at the same time as quaking and blowing up your group?

It also shouldn’t proc out of combat.

Quaking is one of the easiest affixes out there

Only things easier are like… volcanic.

I have always thought quaking was a ‘lazy man’s affix’ but yes, there are far too many stacking mechanics in this game for quaking to remain current. It needs to be retired.

Agreed, the SECOND combat is over, even the current quaking should not finish it’s proc.

It’s not hard, it’s just annoying as hecc.

Nothing wrong with it being annoying.

Only thing I really agree with in the thread is it not procing out of combat, that seems silly.

Disagree, annoying = poorly designed. Put crap in the game that challenges you, not makes you stop a 4s cast every 17s because you’re too lazy to design worthwhile content.

Correct, it is super easy

Until you’re forced to stack and it goes off and well now it’s a wipe

Who has 4s casts?

And it’s about planning, that’s what makes it a good affix imo. You have to plan around it not just react to it like explosive, etc.

And they’re fixing the major forced ones (like last boss of NO and the worm boss in shadowmoon)

And then it happens anyway cuz this is blizzard

never had it happen during NO pulls at all last night

Had it happen to a guildy earlier, that’s why I don’t trust blizzards “quaking fixes”

Fire mages, I would agree if it was not every 17s. 17s is just toxic.

You’re pugging a +20 HoV. You’re on Hyrja and the storm is coming up. Everyone runs to the bubble but just before you get there you get the quaking debuff. What do you do?

It’s not every 17s

It’s not even random.

You can track when it might pop and plan around it.

There’s enough room in the bubble to spread out 5 quakings

And how do you communicate this to your pug? Who moves where?

How do you communicate kicks or stuns? Defensives? Where to path? When to pull large?

Are we really advocating that this game be designed around zero communication between groups?

Couldn’t have said it better.

Though we don’t even communicate this kind of thing in a non-pug group, there really isn’t time, you just… spread.

Spreading like that has been a thing in wow for years.

“Kick star”. Addons.

It’s an unspoken rule that people use defensives whenever they can on mob packs, and for bosses it’s always healers CDs first and then personals.

“We don’t need this mob”. Rarely ever an issue because everyone does the same route.

“I have CDs you can pull big”.

Do you not see the difference between communicating something mid mechanic vs. your examples? You don’t have much experience doing high keys, do you?
