I hopped on a slightly leveled fire mage and decided to run through the rest of my leveling in WoD, but I hit an impasse establishing my garrison at Quakefist. I was coming at him level 34 in full 7 set leveling gear. I don’t want to say he was overtuned; It was a bizarrely difficult fight that was requiring me to pull every trick in the spellbook, but that’s cool. The problem was that his reset range was super super tiny. Simply blinking through his conal strike was enough to cause a reset more often than not. I probably pulled him 20 times before another player able to tank in place meandered in. It definitely needs some sort of tuning.
I think the challenge of the fight was a cool novelty within the leveling experience and expanding his reset range would be the better fix, but either that or scaling him down a bit seems necessary. I don’t believe I could have ever beaten him as a fire mage solo. I just had zero room to kite without forcing a reset, and he has way too much health to burn in place in a petless cloth spec at least as he scales to level 34.

I have had this problem every time I fought him at the cave entrance. When I run past him and am inside things go much better. Note that this was all before the level squish my characters disappeared shortly before I got back to this quest.

This is very unfortunate that blizzard dos not officially make any response to this issue. Its sad because if you can not beat this Quakefist monster you do not get your garrison and this is a very important thing for most if not all the players in WOW. Quakefist keep going up in lvl everytime I level. I noticed this at 45 and made a support ticket asking Blizzard whats the deal with that. They responded as if they have no idea why this is happening. I am now level 48 and guess what? Quakefist leveled up to 50 ??? Please some sort of explanation that is believable is all I’m asking for. FYI this is on my demon hunter character name: Karodas. Argent dawn realm.
yes, mobs scale.
this is normal.
if you don’t want them to scale, exit Chromie time.
ok thank you for the reply appreciate some input. so, why didn’t it do this on my other 3 characters ? in any case how do I exit exit Chromie time?
go back to the embassy in Stormwind, talk to Chromie and ask her to turn it off.
or you can wait until 50, and it will turn off automatically

omg thank you. Why o why didn’t the blizzard support staff tell me this when I open a help ticket . I just did what you sadi and it worked. They told me they had no idea what was going on and that I should report this issue to the Bug department. again I really really apreciate you taking the time to help me - thank you. this was bugging me for weeks .

this is something they’d consider to be a “game hint”… stuff which players are expected to find out by themselves.
support is more for when you have issues which prevent you from playing.

My experience with this, and NEVER being able to get anyone to help (just bad timing) is that the key to killing Quakefist is MOBILITY. Do everything you can to avoid staying in one place, and if you have anything you can hit him with while you move? That’s the key to survival. Do not attack outside the cave. Wait for him to go in and reach the bottom (just what I’ve seen). If you stand there and try to hit him, you will die. Move, move, run, shimmer, blink, whatever - just hit him on the run ALWAYS

OMG I remember what a cluster-f this quest became after the first major rescaling, and figured it would be for sure fixed by now - nope.
And no, leveling up above current WoD and not using Chrome Time is not a solution - I ran this quest chain many times during WoD, and this mob was a non-issue, and it did not scale to be several levels higher than the character level.
This is still an issue. My 52DK cannot beat Quakefist. I have 14k Health, he has 72k. I can blow every cooldown and get him to half. He seems mathematically impossible to beat, which locks out the central questline of the entire expansion.
I never had a problem with a tank, but I had such a problem with another class that I got a healer to help me, which has to be a player doing the questline at the same time.
It’s stupid. The comparable Horde elite is not only pretty easy, but they give you helpers to help kill it.
Just for the sake of a repeating bug- my 25 Havoc Demon Hunter also cannot solo him. In 6/7 Heirloom gear. He is level 27 and has 9.5 health, I am 25 with 2.4k
For those just trying to get past: switch to a tank spec.
I swapped to vengeance tank spec on my DH and it was cakewalk.
Your class doesnt have a tank spec? You’re probably SOL and need to head back to cromie.
