I thought I would toss up a quick QotD to see what you all thought about the Blizzcon Announcements. What are you excited about? Any disappointments?
For me:
1. Warcraft 3 Reforged. It looks GREAT! I never did a full playthrough of WC3 - definitely will with this offering. I used to enjoy RTS games and it will be a nice lore appetizer before Class release.
2. Classic - Summer 2019! Earlier than I expected. Glad to see the community outrage on sharding. It looks like Blizzard got the message loud and clear. Still some general concern about them delivering an authentic experience.
3. General WoW news - future patches look good. I really like the Gnome and Tauren heritage armor. Mechagon looks neat as do the Junker Gnomes. Killer Cyborg Gnomes as an Allied Race? Yes, please (not announced, but would expect that eventually).
Your thoughts?
1 Like )The meat wagon mount - though I have no reason for it no more since not Undead. Just dislike that it is for people who buy WC reforged as, I cannot stand RTS games, I even wasted my money on StarCraft 2 then realized, I don't like those games, even though I already knew that since I have wciii just not the updated one like that maybe they can give us a low detail, meatwagon for those that have the wciii from long ago lol )
2 Dislike) no kul tiran warlocks. I guess i have to go back gnome, or continue just keeping TRPin a kul tiran
3 Dislike) Dislike but dont hate it, no d4 game (though immortal may be cool but i dislike playin games on my phone cause touchscreen buttons irritate me.
5) Oh that lady who does scrollsage nola is a really cute, ancient lady who seems to have a kind heart- and seeing on twitter she had never been to an event that big or had so many people say nice things to her made me feel good. (shows not all players are dbags)
4) that is all I know really from blizzcon. I didnt buy the ticket, (no pet no need to buy )

Pretty disappointing and uneventful Blizzcon, the only things that saved it was Warcraft 3 & the Classic release date
-Warcraft 3 Reforged looks absolutely amazing, I can't wait to see some of my favorite custom games reforged. King Leopold's custom games like Broken Alliances, War of the Lost Kingdoms & 12 Kingdoms really set the bar high.
So much re-playable content & self-made player content which is why Blizzard games were so damn successful back in the day.
-World of Warcraft Classic could of not picked a better release date, I can't believe it's actually this close to release. Although I don't like the newer graphics, I see the necessity for it for the newer audience.
The sharding on the demo was a bit worrisome, although Ion specifically said it's not happening in the live game so I hope he sticks to his guns.
-Honestly the the future patches for Retail really didn't look all that exciting, really just looks like Broken Shore & Argus reskinned to me. Modern class design looks like its here to stay which is really just disappointing because it's the main thing holding back the game for me.
Diablo announcement pretty much made history as the new "You think you do, but you don't". It's very concerning that Blizzard's diablo developers were that clueless to the community's wants.

1. I've never really played any of the WC games, but comparing the originals to what was displayed at Blizzcon seems pretty solid.
2. I am glad it will hit this coming summer, far enough out to plan some time off work to get started on leveling, but ultimately I wont be rushing to 60. I leveled a Rogue in 2006, but this time around I'm going with a mage. I really hope it will be hit and once again build a great community among players; thats what I look forward to the most. As far as the sharding goes, like the majority I am against it, and hope they leave it out, but I wont hold my breath.
3. I have no real opinion here, but I do like the whole concept of Mechagon and his junker gnomes and look forward to this dungeon.
AND excited about Zandalari Paladins....will be race changing ASAP when available.

1. Warcraft 3 Reforged shows a lot of promise and I'm looking forward to player-created mod games after the campaigns. I'm expecting that some of the retconns we've seen will be applied in here, and maybe even more retconns to come. Looking forward to see how the lore gets fleshed out. There's also a lot of room for additional expansion packs of all the events leading up after Warcraft 3 through Vanilla WoW, so lots more potential content!
2. Classic - I want to get excited about Classic, but realistically I know that my gaming time is much more limited now than it was back in the day. I'll still roll a character and it's nice knowing that once you get to a certain point in progression there is no more catching up to do, so that's appealing... but not having Kul Tiras would be tough for me after BFA.
3. General WoW news - I'm really looking forward to the mechagnomes, especially if they can be robotic druid/transformers with mechanical animal forms, laser beams, rocket launchers, gattling guns, shield matrices and all that gnomish goodness.
Mostly just disappointed that they're not addressing CRZ/sharding or offering any solutions.

Vanilla could be demanding back in the day, but Classic won’t ever force you to progress to another expansion. You can take things at your own pace and eventually achieve your goals.
I'm excited to experience leveling 1-60 in vanilla again. I have no intention of playing the endgame so the thought of playing WoW when leveling was pretty much the entire game for most people is very appealing to me. There's a cohesion in vanilla leveling that just isn't there in modern day WoW.
I liked the cinematic...and I say this is all F'ing seriousness...
BLIZZARD, if you ever, ever put together a cinematic of that quality out as a movie, I'll buy a ticket once a week, the dvd, the extended dvd, director's cut dvd, voice-actor's commentary, and hell, I'll even buy four, and give them to people who don't even play WoW.
And now, for the critique...
How da-f'inghellbonesandhighwater can Blizzard put out a cinematic that tells a compelling story in less that three minutes, and yet dog vomit for ingame that doesn't go with rehashed plot devices that were used...two...three...four xpacs ago, and still used.
COME ON, BLIZZARD!
Sincerely, and with much apathy,
Loknal

The only change that affects me is that I can now post on the forum with an account that isn’t paid for each month. For that alone, I wouldn’t have deleted Zigra (the troll). I’m not coming back for retail or classic and I doubt I’ll ever upgrade my computer to handle games in the future. Sometimes the best change is a change in direction.
