The devs may say that Pathfinder is about “earning flying” but the only aspect of Pathfinder important to them is the time-gating. So they are not going to consider any alternative (and there are plenty) that results in flying “too soon”. Personally, I think flying should just be free for a character when they reach max level, but that does not fit with their primary objective of time gating flying.
They don’t want you to fly for the first year of a new expansion. It’ that simple. It’s not going to change unless a bunch of people quit, and that is not likely, given how the devs are “happy” with how Pathfinder is working, ie., they are getting the timed gated flying but not losing too many subs because of it.
yes, but it’s not my money. and those tokens are there anyway, whether i use them or someone else. they will not receive a red cent from me, and that is all that really matters to me.
Well, I know that the only way to communicate with Blizz is to stop paying them so I know if I wanted to “speak” to them the only way is to actually not give them money, but this game means to much to do it so I guess I will be resigned to being annoyed all the time.

but see, that’s what you don’t understand. yes i’m giving them $20 buy using virtual gold to buy that token. but that token is already there. they have that money already regardless. there is zero revenue coming from me. my time metric doesn’t count.
I think the best thing is for players who are upset about Pathfinder is to just not buy. That’s the numbers they proudly present these days (x million copies sold).
Guess my pre-announcement decision stands. Wait to buy the xpac until flying is available on the ptr. Gives me time to do part 1 without excessive amounts of WQs to burn out on.
Also, for those “sticking it” to Blizzard by using tokens. You’re not. Don’t kid yourself. Your money or someone else’s money, it doesn’t matter, Blizzard still gets more money from tokens than they do if you pay for it with actual money.
god, for the zillionith time. they already have the money. it’s already counted. if you want to preach, talk to the idiots that buy gold. i can’t understand why anyone would want to buy gold. they are the ones giving blizz $20 bucks. those tokens could sit and rot on the AH, blizz has the money. is that concept so hard to understand?
Yup. Thats the only way i can get a vote in. Forums are just what they have to disregard complaints. To redirect our energy away from the mail and customer service tools.
if you want to get their attention, stop buying micro transactions. stop buying services, pets, mounts, and especially gold. that will get their attention.
I like Pathfinder overall, I don’t miss buying flying on all my characters and I like getting to level with flying on alts once it’s unlocked. But they do need to make some improvements.
I’d have no complaints with Pathfinder if they made some changes:
Pathfinder part 1 should be available at launch (or no later than the first content patch), have about the same requirements it did in BfA and award flying in all the zones that came out at launch.
Part 2 should come out with the content patch that introduces new zones and should give flying in those zones.
Older expansions that use pathfinder should give players a choice, pay for flying on a per-character basis as we used to do, or unlock Pathfinder for free flying on all characters.
Well it might just be but then if it is then this expansion is the last one we should be playing because what is the point in wasting money on another ?
