Q: How is flying going to work in Shadowlands?

I can’t say I am surprised even remotely. This is for the best

pathfinder isn’t universally loathed no idea where you are getting that info from

Only some of us do pathfinder isn’t all that bad

That approach requires the assumption that after leaving the game for a few months, a person would still want to come back.

In my case, I found that absense did not make the heart grow fonder, but just made me not care anymore and generally replace Wow with other things.

I don’t see any point to spend early for the game (I don’t care about the money, but the time does matter to me, and I need it to be fun).

That’s why I don’t purchase early and do PF1.

And that is fine too. There is no obligation for any of us to continue playing if we don’t want to be playing. If you aren’t having fun, don’t play.

I mean do as you wish, but if I had a nickel for every time someone said they weren’t going to sub until later were the same people that then complained that they had to grind to catch up, I would have quite a few nickels. Not saying you are one of those… and if you aren’t, great… if you are… you are only punishing yourself, not Blizzard.

I wouldnt hold your breath on wow 2. Even if you ignore their past stance on the subject; they are doing a level squish. I doubt right after a level squish and making the game shorter to get to current content they are going to end the current gane.

Shush, they don’t need help with their bad ideas :stuck_out_tongue:

Which is hilarious because I play LESS when I can’t fly.
Well, not entirely true, but I don’t play current content outside of the necessary-to-stay-raid-ready content, on one character, and even then I zip through that as fast as I can.

Yes, Meritha, I agree. Decisions have consequences and complaining about a huge grind later is lame.

I just don’t care for the Chinese water torture in getting there no matter how long drawn out.

( I am guessing I will be forum banned for that phrase…shame as I think this may have been post 250 over the last 15 years, and I was really hyped about my post number 3 on the new forums. It was very exciting.)

You must grind sooner or later, maybe later is better, you’ll not buy the expansion, you’ll wait the people complain about evertying, maybe they will fix some things and after 1 year you can play it.

And that is fair. I am not against people who are against Pathfinder (that sounds weird), just against people shooting themselves in their own foot and then complaining about it.

I don’t loathe pathfinder, I just don’t like that they make us wait so long between parts, if it were me I’d make it single part only and obtainable at launch as soon as you have the necessary requirements.

blizzard gave their reason. If they went for “no flying” a large portion of the playerbase would be angry. If they went with “free flying at launch/pay with gold” a large portion of the playerbase would be angry. This middle ground makes everyone annoyed instead of having angry people.

Can you show me a source that proves how many players like/don’t like/want to change pathfinder? Best to stick with “I don’t like it” and not try to assume how many players fall into what.

i’m glad i don’t pay real money for this crap anymore. you got me ion. i’ll buy your expansion with my b-net money, and i’ll play with your tokens, but i’ve got the gratification of not giving your sorry (…) a single dime of my money.

I don’t think this is true. Were there outcries in TBC and Wrath about flying? Maybe a little bit. The only negativity I can recall was people saying it hurt world pvp, which is fair. But here’s your solution: if you’re flagged for pvp, you can’t fly. See how simple that is?

Again, the past has proven that flying wasn’t an issue until Blizzard made it an issue. All they have to do is go back to the way it is. It really is that simple.

I actually really love the idea of pathfinder and as an avid pvper letting us have 2 major patches without it allows for more wpvp to happen. With the introduction of flying it has devolved into “everyone gang up on this area and bug out” instead of having prolonged battles because you can’t just run away easily.

Leveling up is now the Journey

Never had a problem with it myself but it is good to have clarity so people can either accept it now or move on to another game.

You do realize that they make more money that way? And that they are still getting paid through that system? Also, that your tokens and bnet balance probably aren’t even a drop in the bucket for them?
