PvP'rs forced to PvE again for 9.2?

" The first build of Patch 9.2 adds a new change to the PvP Trinket Set Bonus. This bonus is meant to replace the 40% increased benefit from Versatility, having both trinkets will now provide increased primary stats and stamina instead."

That 40% Vers increase was the closest thing we were able to have as a return to a “PvP stat.”

This ontop of the news that we will be able to obtain our tier set through PvP… and the current design where PvP gear disparities are busted, I’m getting really nervous that Blizzard might pull a BFA and attempt to force PvP players to PvE to remain competitive.

This is all speculation, but Blizz please don’t do this if that’s the plan. We know Raid participation is down, but trying to tap into the PvP community to fix that isn’t the solution.

PvP & PvE focused players are a very different demographic. While I can only speak for myself, personally as a PvP exclusive player if I am forced to Raid / do Mythics to remain competitive I will actually quit and never look back.

Many of us pay for this game for PvP content, we do not enjoy PvE. Not that PvE is bad, it’s just not what we enjoy doing or play this game for.

Please look into tapping into the Mythic+ community instead to fix your Raider numbers, they are more likely to jump on the wagon as they are PvE players. Please don’t risk damaging the PvP community even more.

Considering both Mike Ybarra & Ion Hazzikostas have an account wide Honor Lvl below 10, it is clear they do not participate in or enjoy PvP. These two are clear examples that PvP & PvE players are different demographics, if these two don’t personally enjoy PvP then why should we be forced to do PvE?

If it gives extra primary stats isn’t that pretty similar to a vers damage bonus anyway? Seems to be a change aimed at making players a little more tanky in pvp via the extra stamina while keeping generally the same power.

PVP is dead or dying. The only thing keeping it going are the players. There’s no interest from the dev team in keeping it going.

Nope, pvpers aren’t being forced to pve and vice versa. Unsure where you got that idea from since all of those articles you linked pointed in the completely opposite direction and was all about “doing what you want”

The lack of a “PvP stat” is troubling. All gear has primary stat, PvP gear was generally considered gear that has Vers.

Again, I don’t know what they’re planning, this is speculation based on what Blizz has done in the past, but the last time they removed our PvP stat PvP’rs were forced to depend on PvE gear to avoid getting stomped.

Sure someone could just remain doing PvP only to get their gear, but if you’re able to receive PvP-appropriate gear from Mythic & Raids too then you’re going to be severely gimped as a PvP player if you’re not doing all three forms of content.

You know they hired a bunch of pvp devs right? They are adding 2 new arenas, and we haven’t even seen the updates to gearing and class balance.

Pvp isn’t dying, the games just in a rough spot. I’m still getting 10 second queues at pretty much all ratings- apart from RBG’s.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ve been waiting for PVP content for some years now.

Well since the main stats are pretty much the same across ilvl, wouldn’t pvp gear technically be better than pve gear for pvp because its higher ilvl in pvp than you can possibly get in mythic raid / mythic plus?

There’s pvp announced :joy: they’re also adding solo queue to brawls to test it for next xpac.

If you do some research there’s some really good stuff being added.

So… they’re just polishing what already exists today? Anything actually new?

PvP is down as much. And if real numbers are to be taken into account, PvP is smaller than PvE at this point.

What :joy: they are adding NEW MAPS. How is that polishing they are adding stuff and adding a tanked mode people BEGGED FOR

What are you so pressed about? They add stuff the pvp community asks for and you don’t wNt it?

This is true, because PvP players have been begging for easy fixes/changes throughout this entire expansion and getting radio static silence levels of ignored.

It took so many of us to quit for them to finally decide to “test Solo Que” as an option. If they force us to PvE now too this may be a killing blow to the PvP community. We’re already on life support.

Is the bar so low we should celebrate getting only a new box to fight in?

in PVP* so its not in pve, pvpers won’t have to pve

Take this with a grain of salt as i’m not a ff14 player myself but, from what i’ve heard from other people who have played it as well as wow pvp, ff pvp is not all that great and gets almost no dev attention at all.

The lack of a PvP stat potentially makes PvE gear viable in PvP.

Only way to avoid this if they jacked up the PvP iLvl on Conquest gear pretty high, but there’s been no talks about how PvP gearing is going to work yet for 9.2.

They changed the way PvP gear works drastically from Season 1 & 2, so there’s no telling what is going to happen for Season 3.

If they don’t fix PvP gearing, there won’t be anybody to queue for those “new maps” that are probably not going to happen until 10.0.
