Pvping as a warlock

is really freaking painful. We just get trained to death and die to a fart while doing mediocre damage at best. Really depressing. I feel like I have to outplay my opponents significantly to even have a chance to win while melee just press 2 buttons for wins. Is 8.1 going to change this at all or are we just screwed this xpac?

p.s. spriests are unkillable gods atm. Any chance we could have some of that?

I would say queue fire mage/ destro but fire gets a big nerf to their burst tomorrow. I guess get ready to play with Spriests, Dk’s, and WW’s again and finally get a decent push :slight_smile:

i suggest you to go to warlock forum and see epicburn guides, he made a new one this morning about demo locks, with the new demonic tyrant trait, his tyrant attacks are hitting for 30k

yeah time to farm up 3 completely new azerite traits…yay…
im so burned out of this xpac

edit: he also said that his build is going to imminently get nerfed because of how OP it is. By the time I get the 3 stacked traits it’ll get nerfed anyway…

Sure I put a bit more time into this xpac because of how it was designed to farm traits… But I also don’t remember ever disliking an xpac this much and I’ve been playing since early Vanilla…

Fire mage is getting Wildfire trait which will make MLS much more viable. ML secures kills through the lock’s burst, not the mage’s.

I didn’t like WoD at the start, and I wasn’t too impressed with Legion at the start (both xpacs sort of dumped on destro at their beginnings). I’m hoping things will pick up in BFA like they did for the other expansions.

Yeah your kill window is definately reliant on getting a well timed double bolt off. But the combo of destro and mage is reliant on both for a clean kill.

If destro has enough burst on its own it would successful with any other dps, care to elaborate why mage/destro is a comp if your not reliant on his damage? Lol

Spriest / Boomy / Ele / Double Destro. Basically any other double caster cleave with a Destro, you win because the opposite team is going to train the lock and leave the other caster (mostly) freecasting while they tried to roflstomp you. In Legion your 1 min wall coupled with HPal/Rsham gave you silly survivability to actually get your own damage off, but that isn’t the case right now. Your lucky to get 1-2 bolts off during wall, coil, infernal before you have to kite with gate and rely on your teammate to finish.

Run resto sham, affliction, X with the 3 Drain life trinkets, stall out till 100 stacks…Go uninterruptable and just drain

Wildfire seems a bit redundant, it adds pyro damage but the bonus crit for mage during combustion makes no sense. Combustion already gives you 100% crit, why would they need more crit buff that lasts the same duration as combustion?

Other then perhaps that buff being unpurgable it’s garbage. MAYBE giving the mage some extra crit if combustion gets purged, otherwise it’s just wasted stat.

Mage doesn’t need it, but it is a buff to their mastery. It buffs the lock’s bolt damage and coupled with a skyfury could be pretty big. Depends mainly on how much it buffs it.

NEW Wildfire Pyroblast deals 402 additional damage. When you activate Combustion, you gain 273 Critical Strike, and up to 4 nearby allies gain 68 Critical Strike for 10 sec

Which part of that buffs your mastery? Also you only receive 1/4th of what the mage does if your in range.

Combustion grants mastery equal to half the mage’s crit.

Hmm didn’t know they added that second line to the spell, assumed it was still just 100% crit chance. I don’t think you’ll benefit from any mastery bonus as his teammate though, that’s a personal buff. Just some very minor crit bonus during his burst if he’s running Wildfire

I realize this. Extra damage to CB is always welcome though. Mage could also combust during Havoc coil and buff shard gen through higher crit rate leading into an extra ROF and possibly pull defensives.
