I have been reading posts that say the state of PvP is utter garbage right now and definitely not worth playing.
I am a real noob when it comes to PvP. Is it truly not worth doing anymore?
I still have some PvP heirlooms to collect.

Hard to say because it’s all subjective, right? You’ll find out on your own whether you like it or not.
It’s utter garbage every expac. We just keep repeating the cycle of lies telling ourself it’s gonna get better.
It can be bad for some players, I enjoy it, I think It is the best we’ve been in a long time.
Epics are fun and challenging, Blitz is fun way to get rating and conquest gear.
I don’t Arena because I never liked that there is no objective other than killing someone running behind a pillar.
BGs are always fun to me because there is objectives and less about zug zug into perfect meta class comp. Epics are nice because there is both PVE and PVP as raid format.
There are only 2 PVP devs and they are extremely biased.
Are you sure they’re not AI devs?
I enjoy it. Dusted off my Enhance Shaman I haven’t played since MoP and have been having an absolute blast. And I haven’t seen a single other one in the 10 BGB matches I’ve done.
Very subjective question. It’s worth playing for me because I enjoy it. I’ll admit that it’s best when you don’t take it that seriously.
Agree. Sadly epics can be zug-zug/meta class comps with the premades or certain smaller (?) groups of people - which can make the mode super boring - but it really just depends on the individual. I like that the game still has enough casual, not-min-maxers that it’s generally still fun.
I love PvP, even off my hunter.
I always have the goal to get the weapon illusion, and then try to push for titles.
This is across blitz, 2’s, 3’s, shuffle etc
Depends on what your goals are.
If you want serious pvp then I suggest other games.
Wow pvp is pretty much a joke, the balancing is terrible, the game design is ancient and the match making is non-existent.
But if you just want to enjoy yourself, then it isn’t too bad. Although I suggest in any casual content to always run with friends. Pugs can be really dumb and annoying, and sometimes it’s a pain to fight a coordinated premade as a solo
Fully agree. Rated PvP is essentially just a constant rotation of flavor of the month classes that are stupidly overpowered. If you can just laugh about it, PvP can be a lot of fun in spite of its many problems.
I still kinda sorta enjoy it but its more fun than scripted pve
Brother dh is s tier rn. Its as good as its ever gonna get for you. Go out and stomp!
BGs are only fun when you luck out and get to play as even matched teams. I can’t believe that after 20 yrs of wow we are still either being camped in our gy or camping them in their gy.
The other NOT-SO-FUN thing about bgs is when no one plays to win. People go in there just to pvp and don’t care if they win or not. That puts random bgs on par with your reason you don’t play arena.
No, not really. There is no team play. You hardly ever get help when you are being 2 v 1. The healer can’t keep up with dmg when the other person is on their healer. The second the group finds out who the weakest link is, its pretty much over. They will get zero wins and you will get 3 if its a bad healer and 4 if its another bad dps.
??? are you mixing shuffle and blitz?
While I don’t know much about the PvP heirloom mentioned, but if your goal is to collect items and don’t have high expectations, then why not give it a try? Really, it’s not as bad as it sounds, and it might be to your liking! Just focus on your goal - obtaining items - If you truly desire it, then it should help you overcome any challenge.
People don’t usually come to post when they are content with the state of the game. Even at the best of times, the forums will be flooded with negative posts.
PvP has some issues (as does every aspect of the game), but it’s still entirely worth doing as long as you aren’t too put off by the initial learning curve or the handful of negative experiences that are inevitable in any pvp mode.
It’s not bad if you don’t take it seriously. It can be quite fun with a good amount of enjoyment. If your becoming competitive, it can be frustrating. Overall, I think it’s fun.
For sure.
I feel like this is pretty much true of any competitive game though. I’ve never seen a community that didn’t constantly ramble on and on about balance issues (warranted or not).
WoW PvP is fun. Even if it makes me want to throw my PC out the window sometimes.
