(pvp) why is it easier to kite as survival and to do just as much dmg kiting vs MM ( the archer/ranger spec)

I miss cata hunter so bad lol! cant wait for cata classic.

i guess but i doubt they buff out mobility more and currently hunter seen as squishy as takeing not takeing boss mechanics well even if we dodge most incoming damage.

so im kina hoping that the change the owl into some 30min raid buff and give us a heal regen dot that be perfect for some kiteing alonf with maybe buffing trailblaizer or pathfinding.

And they don’t DR traps w/ scatter

Back in Cata, we still had ranged SV, which was essentially perfect. But then again, all three specs ran off the same focus builder/focus spender pattern.

Right, which means addressing the PvP concerns should first be done through the pain points shared with PvE.

Address first the shortages in defensive value where no other means of mitigation (such as through kiting, having a tank, etc.) are possible, and then give it some time to investigate the shortfalls thereafter, then find the best use for what slack remains.

Rose colored glasses, thy name is Xabbie.

“You do damage with DoTs. Neat, huh?” isnt a design.

The actual survivability and crit damage focused survival spec of TBC is a greater success in terms of design IMO.

Cata hunter wasnt bad though, prefer cata hunter to any hunter spec in the last 8 years.

No, there was no real damage with the DoTs because most of your damage came from Explosive, Black Arrow, and initial Serpent hits, but the DOTs and creative uses of your traps could force those sweet LNL procs that made Cata SV a joy to deal with.

That, and being a fully mobile DPS that just happened to be total crap at PVP - but that’s what MM was for.

And of course, the only cast time SV had to deal with was Cobra Shot, but just about everyone replaced “Viper” with “Fox” in their macros, so that was a non-issue.
