I was talking to my guild about some features in the game that are gone but should get a revival. Say what you will about it, I’d like to see warfronts make a comeback but with the addition of PvP.
There are many zones across multiple expansions that have great map design and art themes that would work for this, a smaller skirmish scrap down the lanes of Deadwind pass 10v10 + AI on both sides. Or a larger Nagrand-style horse-mounted (WoD addition) combat across the plains. I think the visiting of old zones, modified slightly for the warfront, could bring PvE and PvP players together and more engaged with the other side of wow. On this note please allow the player to choose a PvP reward or PvE reward at the end*
There are always going to be downsides and one I see would be premade. One form of protection could be a randomized queue like BGs have. Please ensure there is matchmaking that looks for equal distribution of required roles i.e heals tank etc on both sides.
What do you guys think anyway? Loose idea but just thought it could bring all those old retired zones back into the fray. The Devs can work on old favorite zones and maybe put up a few community poll choices like with the M+ options for more community/Developer engagement.

I honestly thought that’s what they were going to be when they announced warfronts and was very excited for that.
I would love if they did PvP versions of warfronts. Like an even larger scale more resource based AV.

Without getting your expectations high, they did tease new Battleground content recently.
As a reminder, there’s plenty of PvP content that was abandoned in the game files that never got to the finishing line, so keep low expectations. They could be working on new content that we won’t see until the expansion after Dragonflight (11.0).

Absolutely I keep my expectations low. I have heard the developers read these forums so perhaps if they come by this post it might invigorate them to go forward with an idea from older content and try to revive it.
I do see they are putting a bit of notice into BG’s so its a positive at least they are getting a little attention. Fingers X
That Defense of the Alehouse map looks fun, I’d love a MOBA style EBG. It’s crazy that they have these stored somewhere and never worked with it. It would be wild if they released 5-6 new battleground in one go.
But I really hope they do PVP Warfronts, but also bring back the Questing side/turn-in in AV and make it easier to farm and stronger impact.

Agreed. Would be killer if blizz made it easier to summon aerial assaults and your veteran troops ect during AV. I dont think most players these days even know what the hero NPCs you find in towers and whatnot are used for, or what they can do.

They don’t even save them. I save them in hopes that they bother someone on their way back, I know they will die.

So sad but true! Ive run into many towers to help defend long after its been taken and Mulv or Slidor are still standing there waiting. Its odd to me that no one stops to think i wonder what he does and just trys to interact with them.
Edit: Not to mention folks dont know if they turn in armor scraps it will make your normal npcs way tougher and hit way harder.
