PVP Vendors won't change anything

unless the gear they offer also brings back resilience and pvp power.

I think what most people dont realize is that It’s gonna be the same story in Shadowlands as it is now, where PVE gear > PVP gear unless there is an advantage in using PVP gear over M+/raid drops.

your thoughts? this is a topic that i definitely think most people arent aware of yet and I wanted to make this thread to create discussion before we are past the alpha and its too late.

I don’t care if it’s slower, as long as we can get BiS from only PvPing, deterministically.

As long as I don’t have to PvE, then I’m good.

can a mod ban thunderzilla he’s actually so trolling

I agree. I basically summed up my thoughts on it in another thread like this so I’ll just paste that here. Vendors will only help a little to get more ideal stats. They will not make it so PvP gear is best for PvP.

idk at this point im tired of complaining about it because it will never change back to what we really want. I’ll either accept it for what it is, or stop playing if I ever get fed up enough with it.

PvP gear needs either unique stats or the dual-ilvl system from WoD.

Merging PvE and PvP gear into the same progression is a bad idea because it makes players feel incentivized to do content they may hate to have a combat advantage in the content they actually enjoy. If they opt not to do content, they’re just shooting themselves in the foot.

It’s especially bad for PvPers, as this game is built for PvE first and foremost. PvE will always have more opportunities to gear, and it won’t be as difficult as PvP, because PvP is competitive, and PvE is cooperative. In PvE, you work with a team so everyone can get loot. In PvP, you compete against other players so you get the best loot, and they don’t.

I think most of the players don’t care about PvP gear being better than M+, they want to get gear by doing PvP, and not being forced to do M+ to get the stats they want/need.
As i said,i think that’s the primary reason behind ppl wanting the vendors back, may be wrong.

Why not push for gear to be entirely excluded from arenas?

This and this

Is pretty much what is the case here. Pvpers just want to have a gear path in pvp. Some will do pve to gear faster or whatever, but most will just cap their conquest and then move on to whatever they want for the week.

I’ve never trusted the idea of just PvP vendors solving the issue on why WoW arena has been very unpleasant. Sure it makes the gearing process a lot tolerable, but if the PvP gear we get from vendors isn’t BiS then I honestly don’t even see the reason for adding vendors unless its to satisfy the casual playerbase who cannot afford to invest 50 hours a week grinding in a PvE environment.

I cannot stress this enough, while its been made clear for a few years now, on how much easier and convenient it would be if they drew a line between PvE and PvP in terms of gearing. PvE gear should be inferior to PvP gear in rated PvP settings and vice versa. I honestly don’t care if I have to deal with the current BFA rng fiesta that they gave us as long as the PvP gear (with more accessibility options) we obtained is possibly the best type of gear we can perform with in rated arenas/rbgs.

It won’t be the solve, however it will remove the gear factor.
Yes everyone keeps saying pve items has influenced pvp since forever, however after bc it mostly outlier situations and you could still completely in pvp gear that was competitive to the top raid gear.

Absolutely right it won’t solve anything. When we had vendors we had either pvp power, resil or templates. If they make gear from the vendor actually viable pve lords will complain. Pvp gear will probably be around normal raid level which is a joke with mythic + around. Ladders will still be infested with mythic+ dh’s doing twice your dmg.

So with resil and the like gone for good, the only solution I see is to bring back pvp trinket bonuses. Like if two aren’t equipped then you take 20% more dmg during pvp encounters. This will at least eliminate broken pve trinkets which have been an issue this whole expansion.

This is how I feel. I don’t care if pve gear is just as good. What I DO want is to be able to spam arenas & bgs every week and get BiS gear from that. Not this current system where I go faceroll a +15 once a week to get 475 ilvl loot, and then fight mythic geared demon hunters & destro locks in arena to get some sweet 455 pvp gear.

TBC was the best expansion because they just built on the original game. No new classes just better talent trees and better game. It was the best PvP with Wrath being a close 2nd but things started to get out of hand in wrath.

Cap conquest and just que arena’s or RBGS.

I also have to throw it out there that a honor set is also extremely wanted, this entails an honor vendor as well.

I don’t want to spam dungeons until I get a set, I want to spam bgs. This would liven up bgs by a ton as well.

Just let PvPers PvP man. I don’t care if our gear is useless in PvE, cause Lord knows I don’t even want to PvE anymore due to BFA.

For me at the start of an xpac it’s get my main started and capped then after start on alts until I have all the toons I want (usually all of them or at least over 8 after cata started)

This will probably happen since we don’t know much. When they finally release info we should def give the feedback

Wrath had better pvp.

no, because theres still needs to be progression of sorts. it is an mmo after all

Wrath would of clearly been the best expansion if they didn’t introduce DK’s the infamous hero class. WotLK had potential and some fun class designs and itemization and overall a good expansion. However many ideas started to grow in WotLK that was the downfall of PvP and a great game. Leading us to failed expansions. Where instead of fixing anything it was just add more to create an illusion that things would be okay. Of course they never were okay and here we are.

There were moments of great PvP in Wrath. As an expansion I will take TBC everyday for PvP and gameplay.
