The racial benefits are too unbalanced in PvP. If you want to be considered a serious PvPer you have to play Nelf, Orc, or some kind of Dwarf (depending on the class). I guess you can’t really care about what your character looks like if you PvP, but for me I like looking cool. I personally don’t want to play as an Orc or Dwarf. If I’m looking at that char for endless hours I’m willing to disregard min/maxing based on racials but some of them are so much better it’s tempting. Especially the Orc ones. With 14 playable races only having 4 used in PvP, I think they can do better than that. It’s like one of those things that the benefit for the player doesn’t warrant the resources needed to rework racials and balance them from a development standpoint. Would be nice to have more choices in PvP. Ready for the flamers, understood most players aren’t too affected by this but it’s always nice to know you picked the right race for PvP if you like PvP.
I play Tauren for fast herbalism.
I can pitch tents.
Totally broken.
If you aren’t pushing r1 race doesn’t matter
I think that the racials matter even below 1500 rating. I believe that the amalgamation of small gains ultimately reflects in many close games. For instance Hardiness, 20% stun time reduction over a course of a match can make a big difference. Those seconds are valuable time to do dmg or get a heal off or an emergency spell. Stone form, with the ability to clear bleeds and curses is really strong especially rn with ferals, rogues, and locks running wild. It literally can mean the match with a press of a button. Shadowmeld, if you can meld a poly or a big cast it prevents game finishing dmg or setups. I’d say it matters. Bottom line if the racials were balanced in PvP we’d get some more variety. That’s what I’m looking for.
No racial is going to prevent you from climbing above 1500.
Blood elf checking in
raicals arn’t stopping u from getting rating. only U R
I dont think it matters unless you are absolutely pushing where stoneform can negate an entire go. Play what you want
Race is only really mandatory for rogue and feral, because meld gives them stealth, and respectively a lot of benefits from their kit such as rake stun/improved garrote/subterfuge. You’re giving up too much by not playing nelf.
Why would you choose anything else if you can have a racial that gives you another vanish? It’s like me playing hunter and having a racial that gives me one more turtle.
For the rest you can go with any race, even though nelf is still the best because you can dodge CC and damage with it.
Shadowmeld is just too good QoL to pass on IMO, even if not for PvP (just dropping combat tbh). I’ve reached the same ratings on all Druid races I’ve played, but SM just has a skill curve and plenty of uses that can help one in high-skill-cap scenarios.
Don’t mind the priests playing undead, wizards that situationally play troll, shamans that play draenei, warriors that play gnome, dks and wws that play panda, dhs that play belf, on top of the endless list I can drop for allied races.
Drac’thyr rerollers in shambles after tailsweep and glide speed nerfs.
There are definitely situations in the 2100 and lower brackets where being a particular race could have won you a round in something like solo shuffle but those situations are few and far between. It also requires the player to actually know how/when to use the racial and I doubt players that are perpetually at or below 1500 do, atleast in ways that would affect the outcome
To be fair DH’s only play blood elf because there’s no other racial option horde side.
It’s reduced to 10 in pvp
I’m still going dracthyr
For the looks
Nelf shadowmeld needs to be nerfed. Ppl acting like it’s not that big a deal… No it really is that powerful. You really can’t play rogue of any other race without critically gimping yourself. If you don’t think it’s powerful, then you probably aren’t creative enough to utilize it fully.
I propose it goes back to its classic version:
10 sec cd
Can’t be used in combat
Can be used while drinking
This was actually a decent iteration of the ability and had a myriad of uses without being too strong.
I reported this thread for racism (:
Whoever wants to be serious and push to the extreme plays dwarf or DI dwarf. Draenei is not the best shaman race.
Anyways… the average pvper who reaches elite by the end of season doesnt need the best racial
