I’m looking to play Shaman for just some casual pvp.
Overall, I like the way ele feels a bit more then enhancement. But it seems like enhancement has better survivability because of the maelstrom weapon. Basically instant heals, especially with that pvp talent Stormweaver.
How does Ele compete with Enhancement in terms of survival if it has to cast it’s heals? Can a more experienced pvp Shaman chime in?
Ive been playing both.
Ele is currently more fun for me in most games since ranged is the meta atm and we have on demand burst
Enhance is still fun but playing piano to pvp is not. I played both totemic and stormbringer builds and while stormbringer can have burst its very rng based with proc ascendance. Totemic has high consistant damage and for bgs i have more fun with it. Just make sure to macro ur surging totem to mouse over it makes the gameplay so much more engaging.
I will also note that while totemic has higher consistent damage the amount of keybinds is very high. I usually have to put alot of my utility and silences on weird keybinds i dont use often and i notice i dont use them as often as when im stormbringer (which has like half the buttons so i can put silences and stuns on my well used bottons.
The only thing i havent tried yet is on use ascendance stormbringer but i might give it a try cause rng is not fun in pvp.
Is its survival comparable to enhance or do you have a harder time staying alive as Ele?
I need to look into this. I heard about macro’ing totems, not sure how though.
I would say enhance has better survival in 1v1s and small battles due to storm weaver healing, but ele has better survival in team fights due to being able to attack from range.

Enhance has better healing but that healing is to offset the fact your in the middle of the teamfight and will take heavy aoe damage. Even with the healing enhance is one of the squishist melees.
Elemental has slow heals but doesnt take damage often since its ranged and if ur doing shuffle u got a healer and in bgs u should be at a distance for all ur burst. U also have alot of utility and roots to move out the way to avoid getting hit.
1v1 wise i find it easyer on my ele since i can root, slow, lasso, stun, and rush out the way while still doing my rotation which is 90% instant anyways. I dont have to worry about healing much on my ele vs my enhance
Depends on what class you are facing, but ENH lacks mobility so overall I would say Ele.
