Not being able to log out if you get into combat while manually logging out, would make it so people who are trying to battle log with the assasin debuff or in general battle logging in warmode be required to do so in a safe spot, and not able to log out in a random place so that they lose the bounty.
If you have engaged in enough PVP to become a bounty. Than your avatar should face the consequences of your decision to engage in the most beautiful of all pvp… Wpvp.

Whenever I get through playing as a bounty and needing to leave, I usually rp walk carrying a horde banner toward the ally camp. It’s like a scene for a horror film of just getting circled by a bunch of 190k hp nerds until they have about 20 of them to find the courage to dive bomb me.

Perci, my one peeve with the bounty timing is I can engage in successful wpvp the night before, log in the next morning on the same toon and be hit with bounty at any given time. It’s random. Taen probably will agree with me, she’s experienced the same (that dev love). My suggestion is add a timeout to the bounty hit to include a log out timeframe to exclude this. It’s annoying as hades.

Please keep the topic actually on topic, I’ve seen it multiple times now that Im beating on a guy with a bounty that is sitting down to log out and they are able to log out, that just shouldn’t happen.
Anybody notice that bounty is happening more often? One night I swear I got bounty about 5 times. Annoying.

There a 20 second delay on logging out outside of a safe zone. If you can’t kill them in 20 seconds, you definitely don’t deserve the bounty.

I agree. It is super random, I was in Nazj last Tuesday and killed on horde and was instantly a bounty.
I go out there on a friends shard with the belf to kill my 25 and didn’t die at all the entire time and never got the bounty.

If anything they need to BUFF Bounties more instead of punishing them. Instead of making Bounties want to relog because they can’t fly, they need to increase bounty’s damage/HP and give them a reason to not want to log out.
Changes I’d make to Bounties:
1: First of all, make it so you can see them through stealth if you approach a certain distance. It’s extremely dumb that Rogues/Druids can just move around in stealth with it and be unkillable because of the lag on their markers. Make it so you can see them if you’re around 15 yards of them.
2: Buff their damage and HP more. Give them incentive to NOT want to log off.
3: Let them fly. Again, the biggest reason why I log off when I get Bounty is because I can’t fly. Let them fly BUT make it so the Net-O-Matic INSTANTLY knocks those with Bounty off their flying mount. This would make it extremely easy to knock them off mounts (you can even do it while chasing them on your own flying mount) while still providing them with the ability to fly around.
Other players seem to be having a different experience. I have killed and looted a few Bounties (usually with a lot of other blood thirsty Hordes with me) and never seen this happen.
Taking into consideration what Irisse said, were you Solo when you killed these Bounties?

Huh, people can log out while in combat? I’ve never been able to in wpvp, if I was getting attacked. Unless you’re talking about Alt-f4.
Oh yeah. I’ve literally logged in and instantly become a bounty. It’s pretty funny because some times I don’t even need to have the assassin’s buff, or run into any alliance for hours. I mostly get them while I’m afk. x’D

You can log out with the Assassin Buff and you will have it when you log in again. Whenever you have the Assassin Buff you are at the mercy of Blizzard’s algorithmic randomness when you become a Bounty.

I dunno, I think something has changed. I got bounty last night about 5 times fighting @ NH, and I was solo. Definitely noticed an increase at how often bounties are happening. And I logged every bounty I got
