PvP Stories: Mages

Here’s a bit of a untraditional post. I just spent the better part of 5 hours getting dunked, swirlied, suplexed, sheeped, frozen, blown up, spit on, and otherwise rendered dead and honor-squeezed by mages. Often in towns and when I was at a mailbox, or grinding with my health at half… but other times in duels (which never went well). They were usually of the short, gnomish variety. Ick. Then I get the idea; damn, mages often beat every other class in the game if they really know how to play their class, which means by extension everybody else has likely gotten trashcanned by mages as well… so why not start a thread on PvP stories!

What have YOUR encounters in the open world quagmire of blood and misery that is Phase 2 consisted of so far regarding mages? What stories do you have of killing them (in clutch plays, or with a humorous element) or getting killed by them? What part of mages drives you mad the most? Do you derive a whole lot of satisfaction from krumping those dress-wearing vending machines, as I do? Hell, any stories from back in Vanilla would be cool to hear as well.

Wet paper, I introduce you to your worst enemy, scissors.

Well, when I was leveling in my 30’s, frost mages often 3-4 levels higher than me would try to gank me. I would often run, but then decide to fight. I ended up killing them each and every time.

Not so much now though at 60 and as holy. I get polyed, then 3 shot.

Ask a mage how they like fighting a warlock.

Wet GREEN paper. All the leg days in the world can’t make me fast enough to catch a frost mage :frowning:

When there are two mages and one warlock, I imagine the mages feel pretty good. And considering there seem to be way more mage players than warlock players, this is a common scenario in the open world.

My post pertains to mage players too, by the way. If you’ve had an interesting encounter with other mages, it would fit into the topic of the post no problem, and I’d like to hear it

Just wait until you get some gear, you’ll turn into thick construction paper against plastic scissors.

It’s not so much a fight, as a mage getting brutally dominated and toyed with. Kinda like how a cat plays with a mouse before disembowling it all over the place and bringing you its leg.

As a lvl 27 shammy blammy in ashenvale, questing with my lvl 20 warrior brother, a lvl 31 midget mage started to attack us while my warrior brother was at full health but I was at half health with maybe 30% mana. He killed my brother in like 2 frostbolts and a fire blast. He still had full health and probably 60% mana when I finally got to him with my stats as stated earlier.
I frost shock the gnome and land a swing on him with my WC staff (enhanced with flametongue). He blinks away and starts casting while I one second cast ghost wolf. I caught up to him again as he landed another frost bolt on me. With like 20% health, I earth shock interupt his polymorph and hit him with a staff swing. He is now around like 40% health and maybe 20% mana.
Lol, the next part cracks me up every time. This gnome thinks he’s freaking Venruki or Ziqo and frost novas me and actually jumps toward me while instant casting cone of cold. It did like 90 damage and I wacked him once more with my staff and finished him off with another shock (can’t remember which one).
I drank water (while sitting on his pervy mustache face of course), rezzed my brother, and we started killing more mobs in ashenvale when the midget mage wants revenge. Lol he started trying to kite us again but without even my lvl 20 warrior brother dying this time, we delete him from Azeroth too easily.

I recognize that the lvl 31 mage in ashenvale was really bad. I mean to outlevel two melee specs as a caster and lose when you got you opener out is just trash. But I’ve literally never had any problems with mages as a shaman. Enhancement or elemental, doesn’t matter. The one time a mage actually killed me while leveling (I’ll admit I’ve been stomped on several times by every other class) was when in WPL. I was in the low 50s along with 4 other low 50s as we were trying to kill the elites in WPL (I can’t remember the names, but they’re the undead that you kill for quests there).
We pull the boss elite and start the fight when a 60 midget mage along with 2 other 60s come and start AOEing us as we fight these elites. All hell breaks lose, more mobs are pulled, my group members die, and I was finally hit by a couple of frost bolts from the midget making me the last to die.
That’s been the only time I’ve died to a mage as a shaman so far.

However, I do have a lvl 30 warrior who just /cries whenever a mage opens up on me. I get it.

Silly mage didn’t pay attention to what pet I had out (fel pup). 2 levels higher than me tried to get him some honor. At about 2% health a horde healed him to full and 3 rogues ganked me. As alliance even when you win you lose. A lock with a fel pup is the bane of mages.

yep, and I know what it feels like to be the mouse. I do a bit better as fire, but as frost I am a free kill 1v1 with locks

Here, why tell a story when I can show it!

More people constantly showing up. That pretty accurately summarizes wpvp right now lol.

Bruh :joy: That warrior was wasting rage while you were ice blocked

Well, I wont claim to be able to take on 3 alliance that arent stupid!

I watched a mage die to a hunter that used aimed and multi from the bushes.

1shot that mage, secretly I was made because I too wanted the honor from the mage.
