PvP stats, Vers is not fun

Can we go back to the time where a stat like versatility was baseline on all pvp gear, and we wernt forced to stack it in order to participate in pvp

Imagine how much better and fluid many of the classes would be if they were allowed to stack their normal Crit-Haste-Mastery stats as opposed to having to worry about also fully stacking up on Versatility as well

We shouldnt have to sacrifice Crit Haste or Mastery for any amount of “PvP power/Resilience”

What? PvP gear currently has baseline versatility.

Back when it was called resilience. And also alow us to use the old stat change thing. That way if say tier gloves has haste/crit, but you wamt haste/mastery, you can swap them around a bit.

Think he’s saying like get a Mastery/Haste piece and then Vers is just on there as well instead of having to stack haste/vers you can get more than one stat.

Yeah, I miss that.

Nah, some of the tier pieces don’t.

You sacrifice 1 of the 3 main stats to use versatility for the same effect that PvP power and PvP resilience use to give you

Thats not exactly what i meant by baseline, I meant that A PvP piece of gear for example should have Crit/Haste and THEN versatility as well

would have to be a pvp only stat otherwise the stat budget on pieces would be insane for pve and probably pretty hard to beat
i know there’s an argument of “oh no!!! mandatory content to be competitive!!! what a horrible horrible thing someone would have to do to play their favorite gamemode, who could imagine such a fate” or whatever but that’s not really a good argument since it’s founded in being salty rather than anything that makes a good point

Could just make it lower ilvl and scales higher in PvP. Isn’t that basically what it does now? Might be good initially in PvE since it’s easy to get a full honor set fast.

I think this is why it is how it currently is. Otherwise it would be possible for PvP gear to be BiS for PvE and the raiders would cry.

yes this is exactly what i mean

Versatility is a dead stat in the sense that it doesnt do anything to make any spec in the game feel better to play or function better, all it does is increase damage, And decrease damage taken

Crit, Haste, And Mastery all contribute to making the actual gameplay of our specs feel more engaging and fun, Or fluid. I feel like for a lot of classes especially DK PvP feels awful to operate compared to in PvE

In PvE i have 22% crit, 28% haste, 74% mastery. Aside from just the raw damage i get from mastery, The haste goes a long way to making frost feel actually fun to play, And the crit is really nice for well, seeing crits

In PvP though, I play with 11% haste, Which feels like garbage, 13% crit, which makes those fun crits nearly never happen, and then 58% mastery all because you have to stack 30% some versatility to even participate in PvP

The net result is that now my class feels like garbage to operate, all for a stat that doesnt even do anything for me other than permit me to not get 1 shot

yeah zero haste specs make me wanna claw my eyes out sometimes

idk
it truly depends on the way the gear shakes out tbh
but i don’t know if i could trust blizzard to properly implement it like that since an additional line of verse (three lined gear) is probably pretty valuable over two lined gear since it’s just raw damage in that case and guaranteed
could make the vers only apply once you enter pvp combat but that just feels like a needlessly complicated system to hang onto something that’s not worth hanging on to

For those that are mentioning PvE

Personally i think vers shouldnt even be a PvE stat in the first place, And all the specs that rely on vers stacking should get other forms of compensation

But an easier idea would be to just make the ilvl scaling work different in PvP, Or to just make Vers a Non pvp stat, And then reintroduce PvP power/Resilience

Yeah 3 stat gear does sound like it would be really good. Could just rework the vers on pvp gear to where it’s grayed out unless in pvp combat. Or just create a new stat entirely like resilience.

they didn’t seem to care during malevolent when almost every preraid bis list had sha of anger gladiator’s gear
most people would opt to skip it if it’s only a temporary power spike outside of rwf, but rwf raiders are scum anyways
but if it becomes a long lasting affair (like half the season) that’s when people will start screaming and ranting for pvp to be removed and how they’re being forced into doing content they don’t want to do
lmao
mop legendary cloak required one win from two bgs and ppl were about to go to Anaheim to riot

this is the easiest solution imo
why bother coding all this weird stuff rextroy will find a way to break when you can just bring back a reskinned resil

more steps just make more problems
keep it stupid simple, especially where that Frankenstein nightmare of a game engine is concerned
last thing we need is some bug like find weakness disabling pvp verse or hoj causing it to be 4x effective or some dumb bug that’s sure to arise

Truuuueeee

They should get rid of gear progression in PvP and just make everyone scale equally stat wise can’t believe it isn’t that way already

It already does this plus the massive dr on vers. Main stat gains on the higher ilvl PvE gear would trump vers.

Plus the extra stam, trust me you can’t just stack vers and be immortal lol. I raid sub rogue PvE wise we love vers.

If the team can code different ilvl for PvP and PvE they could probably code the third verse affix to only activate in PvP as well.

Where have u been hiding bro I miss watch you slay 5 people back to back.
