I never played on a PVP Server. What is it like to play Wow in a Server that anyone can attack you at anytime. What have your experiences been like? What are the pros and what are the cons?
I don’t play Classic so it might be different over there, but on modern wow, all world PVP can be opted into or opted out of at your choosing, using the warmode system.
Pve servers with name tag pvp
Very one sided populations who got mad over cross realms
PvP servers aren’t a thing any more.
They don’t exist anymore.
What were they like? You played on the dominant faction and played pretty much like a PvE server. The added caveat was that people who played on the underdog faction tended to do so specifically, and were incredibly scrappy. Finding a perfectly balanced PvP server was rare, and it didn’t last.
Fun when it is fresh and everyone is competing for mobs but not lopsidely leveled and geared.
They were fun when they did exist.
I always used to level on pvp servers in tank spec. I’d get people who tried to gank me, only to end up finding out they shouldn’t try to gank tanks.
That was fun.
It was also fun to be using the “Proven Healer” title, but be in tank spec, to try and bait gankers who were going after lowbies/low geared people. I’d get them to attack me instead, and then kite them around and kill the gankers.
There no more pvp servers, used to be a pain, specially doing world bosses you would get killed from Horde aoe attacks , or get ganked by a group of players lol
I have, first 7 years I played Wow.
You can’t do that while you are stunned, You can’t do that while you are stunned, You can’t do that while you are stunned, you are dead.
The best part was all the people who chose to play on a PvP server, yet constantly complained on the forums about it.
Which was a regular thing up until BfA.
bwahaha
“pvp happened on a pvp server”
90% dominated by one faction
also with the pvp servers you had to make sure you looked around on a rare nod
some were pvp bait traps
Well it’s as you expect. Sometimes you kill people. And sometimes you die to people. And sometimes, you forge fragile cease fires in a questing zone, only to kill the other when you finish your quest first.
Me? I’m a terrible person and subscribe the age old wisdom of “if it’s red, it’s dead” and “that’s my node” and “AFK means a free kill.”
When Vanilla Classic came out, like Oct 2019 ish, I made my one and only classic character. It was a Human warrior on Grobbulus-US, an RP-PVP server. I still remembered how to play classic warrior really well, better than most other people. I barely ever got attacked while leveling, because I killed all Horde on sight and they fled from me in terror. It took me 2 weeks to get out of Ashenvale because I couldn’t stop murdering people. I only left when the broader community stopped going there.
