Will gear from the creation catalyst scale in pvp combat? My vault tier from pvp scales but my RF drop does not.
Will using conq gear for the catalyst let it scale or do we just RNG roll vault?
Was anyone able to test this on PTR? I’d like to know as well.
PvP gear should continue to scale however I wouldn’t be surprised if catalyst is super buggy and locks the ilvl of the gear and/or removes gem slots etc.

I’m fairly certain that the catalyst essentially slaps the tier onto a pvp item being used as its base piece. So the ability to upgrade it and its scaling to pvp ilvl should still be on the item
This is my understanding as well. And then it changes the stats to the tier stats.

This is incorrect. All tier set pieces have the same stats regardless if they are PvP or PvE items.

What is the Item Level of the Tier Set Item from the Creation Catalyst?
Essentially, it is the same as the item level of the non-set item you put in the Catalyst for conversion. It also keeps Mythic/PvP upgrade paths, tertiary stats, and sockets. With this in mind, You will want to remake items with a higher item level base piece, unless the initial version had an upgrade path from PvP or Mythic+ and you earned currency to allow it to be upgraded in that way.

I don’t blame you, it really should keep the stats. The set stats thing seems pretty limiting and stupid.
Where did this quote come from? There’s all kinds of conflicting info, it must have been changed on PTR.
Idk how reliable Icy Veins is, but this is what my google box gave me. It doesn’t directly address ilevel scaling for the pvp items though.
Yes a converted PvP piece will scale in pvp. And it can still be upgraded by CR tiers
creation catalyst functioning correctly on week 1 is def not a safe bet, but fwiw pvp tier pieces looted from the vault definitely do have the correct item scaling and upgradability
