Haha I think this is true for any class. Engineering just has too many strong items to give up if you wanna be really hardcore.
For what it’s worth though, you can do just fine without Engineering. I both ranked to 14 and feel reasonably capable in World PvP without it. There’s been a few occasions where I’ve lost a fight solely by virtue of not having Engineering but it’s not so many in the grand scheme of things. It certainly helps and I do plan to switch one of my professions out eventually, for ultimate troll potential, but I feel compelled to be the voice of reason… not having Engineering isn’t a deal-breaker.
