PVP Rogue in Classic

So this time around I’m not going to have a lot of free time to play WoW as I did in 06, bar the odd weeknight here and there along with a few hours on the weekends

With this in mind, I decided to focus purely on PVP rather than raiding. As such, i was curious to see what the best spec for a rouge will be for PVP? Also, my profession will be enchanting. What secondary profession best compliments this?

I’ll be a dwarf rogue so stoneform is a bonus

Edit: I should probably add that daggers are my weapon of choice.

Probably Leatherworking. Make yourself some decent gear and enchant it yourself.

Engineering is great for rogue

Seriously, Engineering in vanilla was great.

Keep in mind that engineering, while a necessity in pvp if your planning on winning…is a gold sink, or from my experience it was in vanilla.

Think I sold a couple items like the salt shaker and maybe a quest item and some ammo…

For pvp… A popular dagger spec for pvp was 21/8/22

that was the cold blood/prep build

Yeah, it can be. I did mining and Engineering, which helped to offset the costs.

Engineering always had a lot of fun and useful toys. Many of which became obsolete and useless in later expansions. But damn, were those toys fun.

Thanks I’ll note this spec down.

i think subtley or maybe assasination were probably the best specs for a rogue for pvp. and engineeirng the best profession

Getting improved Sprint from combat and dirty deeds from sub is more the meta from pservers than the old 21/8/22 vanilla cold blood/prep build

For a non dagger setup, you will likely want
21/3/27, 21/0/30, or something else based off a deep-subtlety build. I actually don’t know the full meta setup for that, as my rogues have exclusively run daggers at level cap (preference)… Hemo based sub is actually stronger at dueling,

If you are pvping you basically need Engineering. Enchanting is kind of useless unless you plan on doing copious amounts of farming for the rarer patterns, or really enjoy farming the AH for gear to disenchant (and relist the enchanter mats at a profit)

If your focus is PVP, I don’t know why you wouldn’t want engineering. The net gun alone is worth the profession. For build, there is 1. 21/x/21, or cold blood/prep. Nothing else competes with this. The 1 other rogue end game build, combat, is for raiding.

21-3-27 is the way to go imo. You get great combo generation, prep, and the best stealth from subtlety along with the burst of a CB-Evisc finisher. You also can use swords, maces, and fists so it’s a bit easier to get weapons than if you use a dagger spec.

Here’s the build I normally use. You can get ghostly strike if you want but I usually don’t.

I think sub is in general, you can be hybrid sub assasin if you want usually daggers are better with assasin and sub talents.

Complimenting enchanting would be either tailoring which it would be easier to level enchanting with or gathering professions in general. Unless you have lots of gold then leveling 2 crafting professions would be a pain if its not tailoring with enchanting.

Any professions probably ok for a rogue except tailoring will only be useful for enchant regents and bags.
So if you can afford to buy leather and level it up then leatherworking could compliment enchanting maybe I am not sure but I have heard it could.

Well herb could compliment the class itself with finding fade weed.
