Would love to have a discussion with everyone. I am torn between which spec to roll for rogue for pvp, I favor Outlaw/Assassin, but I am not opposed to Sub.
The issue I have is I haven’t played rogue in years (back when Combat was a thing) could anyone explain to me what each spec brings to the table and which one is great for pvp and why? would adore you for that info <3 thank you very much in advance.
I’m feeling like outlaw tends to only be good from the middle of the expansion to the end and plays like a slippery warrior, assassin and sub feel decently matched all expansion a lot but assassin you often have rolling damage the whole match while subs damage comes in short windows and more setting up and has more escapes. I don’t know a lot about outlaw, but I guess having said that it depends how you like to play. Assassin is easier to learn than sub and playing sub, you absolutely must watch DRs and CDs a lot so you can start some damage at the right times
Sub is always THE PvP spec.

At the highest levels, sub usually fits the best within existing meta comps because of its CC and burst. For 95-99%+ of players though it’s honestly about playing what you enjoy and are best at.
I feel best Rogue spec depends on what type of PvP you’re interested in. Personally, I don’t recommend Outlaw for Solo Shuffle.
I think Season 3 so far is somehow even worse for Outlaw in Solo Shuffle than with Seasons 1 and 2 because of how Outlaw has to rely on burst windows that are extremely easy for most classes to hard counter through CC and mobility, and because Shadowdance is an essential part of damage dealing for Outlaw this season, Outlaw doesn’t even have the CC utility from previous DF seasons.
I’m wondering if there are builds that are technically better for PvP as Outlaw, but people generally don’t bother too much with PvP guides for Outlaw as Outlaw is often strictly designed for PvE only. PvP tends to be balanced more in Subtlety’s favor.
I’m sure there’s people who have been making Outlaw work for Solo Shuffle, it just in my opinion seems to be a lot more difficult to play as in Solo Shuffle compared to other class specs.
