Earlier this week, we reached 100% in the Hall of Fame for the Nerub-ar Palace raid.
Because it was so close to the weekly reset, we’ve left the Hall of Fame open for additional entries until next week, when then Hall of Fame will close permanently with regional weekly resets (on Tuesday, November 26 in this region).
Good luck to those guilds who are close and pushing to make it!
leaving it open the extra week just because it was so close to the weekly reset seems like a slap in the face to all the guilds who went hard on Monday to earn it before it closed. Why not just leave it open until the end of the month? the end of the year? why have a cutoff at all, why bother distinguishing HoF from CE?
The purpose of the hall of fame is to reward the top 200 guilds in the region - leaving it open for an extra week could possibly add an extra 100 guilds to that.
Leaving hall of fame open past the first 200 simply dilutes the meaning of hall of fame.
(And I am speaking as a non-raider, so this affects me in absolutely no way - I am just sharing my opinion that this decision isn’t good for the raiding community: Hall of fame is a prestige achievement and it should remain as such)
Given the hyper-restrictive nature of the HoF title, and the rampant piloting we’ve seen in the past to fill it, eh…
The HoF reward is relatively meager. It, however, is prestigious in attracting high caliber players, and I feel that is the bigger boon for achieving it. Late or not, HoF usually precedes a lot of big nerfs to hard bosses.
Hall of Fame means that you were within the first 200 guilds to kill the raid tier’s end boss on Mythic difficulty. And you get a title “%, Famed Slayer of Ansurek”
What the actual fudge is this? This is a slippery slope, or it would be if Blizz wasn’t intent on reaching the bottom as quickly as possible. This is disgusting behavior. Next thing you know they’ll be giving raider achievements to Delvers.
