Monk, Shaman, and Warrior Changes – March 1

With today’s weekly maintenance, you’ll see following changes to Mistweaver Monk, Restoration Shaman, and Protection Warrior:

  • Monk
    • Mistweaver
      • Reverted a change in Eternity’s End to Fallen Order’s (Venthyr Ability) Crane Adept’s Enveloping Mist cooldown and cast variance that caused Enveloping Mist to only be cast once per summon.
        • Developers’ notes: In 9.1, it was identified that the Crane Adept guardians summoned by the ability Fallen Order would cast an additional Enveloping Mist if players reached a certain amount of Haste. Generally, we try to avoid these “Haste Breakpoints” that introduce big jumps in power with arbitrary amounts of a particular stat. In 9.1.5, we shared that we intended to fix this problem in the player’s favor, by ensuring that the Adept’s always cast Enveloping Mist twice per summon. However, upon further review, we opted to not make this change due to balance concerns. For 9.2, we made a change early in development that caused Fallen Order Adepts to be limited to casting a single Enveloping Mist. We are reverting that change via hotfix so that Fallen Order will have the same functionality as it does in 9.1.5. In the future, we will be looking at Fallen Order’s tuning and might make adjustments, but we do not want to make such a large change to this ability before Season 3 starts.
  • Shaman
    • Restoration
      • The bonus damage from the Raging Vesper Vortex (Kyrian Runecarving Power) has been reduced by 35%.
  • Warrior
    • Protection
      • Damage of all abilities increased by 6%.

You’ll find the above chages in the hotfixes update later today.

Please look at Unholy’s tier set tuning. We have one of, if not THE, weakest sets in the game.

Unholy is dead last when everyone gets a second legendary and 4pc.

Thanks for the mistweaver hotfix, but could we please get a damage buff? Dealing less damage than non damage focused healers in M+. (RestoS, RestoD, Holy)

Rsham probably needed a damage nerf… 35% seems excessive though

Using the same argumentation, 35% seems too small. Should’ve been more.

And it’s just to Vesper. Their overall damage is the same outside of that CD.

OK. Now do Feral.

Now nerf feral again

One easy change would be to change the base GCD for Mistweavers to 1 sec like Windwalkers. It would make DPS’ing feel more smooth and would be a net damage buff as well.

The only problem is more damage means more healing via Ancient Teachings and I worry how Blizz would handle that change.

BUFF FERAL. Please and thank you.

Resto shaman needed nerfed. Idk why you’re doing it so late though. Doesn’t matter to me personally but I feel bad for anyone who spent time prepping one for the patch.

We’re not HPS kings in 9.2 so no harm no foul with a change like that imo.

hmmm. Kinda interesting that they don’t want to make such large changes to Monk but then nerf Shaman.

Shamans will still be the DPS kings in M+ by a large margin

I don’t play one, so idk. I’ll trust someone else’s judgement but yeah if some were doing 10k overall before that’s still juicy damage.

It’s not 35% of the 10K (fortunately?). It’s only the explosion after the vesper totem has consumed its stacks. Think someone said it was around a 10-12% nerf based on his sims.

dude stop, kyrian is the only fun shaman legendary and i already couldnt play it even before the nerfs

You’ll be fine. Resto DPS was solid without borrowed power.
