It’d be so nice if the runes were just balanced. If SOME of the classes basically got some basic standard level balancing instead of everyone’s numbers having to be fully gutted it’d be great. Numbers being mixed around and changed constantly for no reason belongs on retail
Making everyone stronger rather than nerfing works in a purely PvP game, but with a partly PvE game you risk making the game to easy. So you have to nerf or you would create a lot of work by having to balance every single enemy to account for making all the players stronger. Nerfing is a necessary evil.
The blanket reduction effectively killed SoD, only casuals that don’t even care about PvP remain

you’re under the false impression PvP balance has to be perfect in order to be fun and/or engaging
the problem with SoD is it is neither of those
the problem with SoD pvp was that they rehashed the blood moon 2 phases in a row
and the fact PvPing in SoD is neither fun, or engaging
thats all wow PVP brother sorry to break it to you. for many players pvp is only ever a means to an end. whether its the cheap mount from av or a quick set of honor gear. the only people who enjoy wow pvp play arenas and rbgs. how are those going in retail and other wow versions? “hint” not good…
Plenty of people do normal BGs in Cata for fun even when fully honor geared, myself included
SoD and Retail PvP is garbage so of course they’re not doing good, that’s a fact
If you truly like PvP Cataclysm is your only option currently

I haven’t played a lot of retail PVP after SoD launch, but what do you think is bad about retail pvp? aside from the amount of micro CC being annoying

you mean pvp thats damage wasnt inflated by runes? maybe to make SoD in line with that experience they should reduce the damage of players in PVP combat…
Its way too cool-down based, you feel like an NPC without them and a literal god with them
It feels good at first but gets old fast. I as a player prefer to set the pace, not my cool-downs.
Honestly a big part for me is the screen clutter and the brighter graphics, its really bad to look at
or adjust the abilities individually like a normal game developer so it doesn’t feel like complete crap
