To the 5 man lvl 60 gank squad in full epic pvp gear running around wpl/epl ganking every lvl 51+, you guys are the real pro gamers! Don’t you have mindless AVs to be running?? I guess this is more of a challenge, right? Gotta also focus on the areas of those zones with the lowbie quests for maximum impact! I guess if your goal was to lower the population of the enemy faction, then you succeeded, because you’ve reminded me how unfun this game is. I don’t feel like rerolling at this point on a pve server so I’m just done playing. Have fun in your cesspool
Another som warrior down
Forget about ganking, the pvp server communities are straight up toxic. I have chars on Jom Gabbar and Barman Shanker and everyone you bump into is as rude as they can possibly be every step of the way. It’s like night and day difference between pvp and pve servers.
PvP happened on a PvP server?
Oh, my.
Discriminating against PvPers on a PvP server. Seems like toxic behavior yep.
What side are you playing? If it’s horde the allies are world hunting. That’s what the side with queues always does with ranking.
This is normal and yes, rolling PVE is a solution for you.
Is that what they call it? I thought the proper term was “making up for my crap life IRL by feeling powerful for killing people who have no chance vs me in a video game because if I did that IRL i’d be in jail” My bad
Well they’re honor farming. I’ve done it myself. Anything 48+ was fair game. My group would sometimes hide and wait for a freshly killed player to rez so we could get honor from them.
It’s not personal. I understand what you mean about toxic but it’s the game and there is another server choice. Sorry that you’re quitting over it.
Jom Gabbar Horde is just fine. People are super chill. I think you just might be a sensitive cupcake. Perhaps it is best you stay on your safe PVE server.
I use Character Notes to keep track of all the time wasters, chat spammers, bg sulkers and antisocial weirdos I encounter. Being able to say to your people “careful with x, he does y” when you re-encounter one of these people in game is much more impactful than just ignoring. Discrete server communities means everybody has a rep within a limited pool of players, it’s a cudgel against misbehavior that not enough people make effective use of.
i’m on pve realm. it’s been quite chill to level.
Shoulda rolled on shadowstrike
Thank you for proving my point. It’s so nice when your posts are independently verified.
You’re welcome.
PvP servers are best when they are the right population size and faction balance. Enough people for the world to feel alive and skirmishes to take places, but small enough that there won’t be gank squads roaming every zone constantly.
There isn’t really a server in SOM Classic that fits that description currently, but the medium pop servers felt perfect the first couple weeks after launch.
I am enjoying my time so far on Jom, but I agree that PVP servers are at their best a smaller population with a relatively even faction balance. That reminds me of my time on The Venture Co, during vanilla and tbc.
It is really unfortunate Blizzard has made no effort to save the lower pop pvp servers.
What I’m just surprised at is you didn’t know this ahead of time
I will even go as far as to say that RP Servers are a little bit nicer than even the normal servers, personally. Sure, the flow of those servers adventures are slower than those that aren’t RP, but the social chemistry is a lot smoother, IMO.
Ya, I don’t RP, but my friends and my sister do, so I followed them to an RP realm. They are great, and incredibly immersive. Just walking by RPers in the cities feels awesome, like I hired actors to play NPCs to make the cities feel real.
Lot of people trolling you, but i totally agree. It’s a little annoying being ganked by groups of people way higher level than you due to the ranking hysteria.
I found that if one zone has a few people that are making questing miserable, I just leave the zone and go somewhere else for a few hours.
They, and you, know that it’s not a fair fight.
