PVP Ranking on Era

Back again to ask Blizzard to address the pvp ranking issues on ERA. It is practically impossible to rank up now due to long queues. Remove the breakpoints within each rank, or just add more, so people can progress week over week.

I’m pretty no changes, but I spent way too much time in WSG (the only bg that would pop) And just could not make 340k to go from r12 64% > r13 0%. I got about 220k and just could not stomach it anymore. Would it be nice if I got something to show for that like maybe going to 84% sure. But did I earn it? Meh I guess not. It was not a r13 effort, but what is, in the current system. It was way more pvp and wins than it took to get my druid to r13. So im conflicted.

I will probably wait til AV weekend.

I feel this. I do kind of wish there were some more breakpoints in the higher ranks. For example, 418K to progress through R13 makes sense on an AV weekend with active queues, but is darn near impossible on non-AV weekends right now. Maybe it helps maintain some of the prestige that it may take someone 3 months of AV-weekend-only grinds to progress through Rank 13, but maybe more breakpoints could help with player retention.

Dude, ranking doesn’t matter, the best gear you can get is in raids.

If you want really want to rank up, focus on world pvp, hunt down people in the open world while you wait for your battlegrounds to pop, blackrock mountain is a decent place to pvp in that regard, or eastern plaguelands, or silithus.

You don’t have to stick with battlegrounds, you’ve got a lot of options when it comes to pvp.

Wouldn’t be an issue if they hadn’t messed with the PvP system in the first place. But Blizzard has the foresight of a deaf bat in a dark cave.

Your best bet may be to farm sand. It’s tedious, but that’s what I had to do during the dark times when Era was dead. I have two accounts and getting 300k honor farming sand actually wasn’t too horrible. 500k should be doable. If you have the gold you can probably pay people to help you. I’d highly recommend having a show to binge while doing this though or you might lose your mind.

how much honor does that yield?

You get 199 honor per sand turn in. You can have people drop sand near where you turn it in to greatly increase your honor per hour. It’s pretty quick honor if you’re dual boxing or you have people helping.

There is a lot of burnout in missing the rank too. After I missed that mark I did not play my sham, or pvp at all again until (for future reference AV weekend) Friday. Just quested with my hunter.

I’ve started playing this hunter again after leaving him behind on deviate delight when tbc launched.

I made i think 260k honor in two days during this AV weekend, maybe 14 hours (guessing) total time spent in alterac Valley. I think I could make it all the way through to r14 if I really wanted to but, I don’t think I do, it got pretty boring around 200k, I’ll stop at 10 which I’ll get with 140k honor next av weekend, in the meantime I’ll spend the non av weeks farming for gold.

Right now, it sounds like a lot of people are being forced–courtesy of crazy long queues during the week–to wait until AV weekend to try to grind the bigger honor numbers. Blizz, is there a solution to this, even if it is just a temp solution to have in place while SOD is slowing down Era queues? Queues every week would be faster if these folks had more incentive to pvp throughout the week and throughout the month. Some of the smaller servers don’t have the option of world PVP either to help supplement players’ out-of-BG honor count.
