I have a question involving what might be a problem with my understanding of the PvP ranks. I am presently a Knight-Captain. While I was a Knight-Captain, this past week I earned over 114k honor on a PvE server. Before I earned that honor, I was at about 20% progress into that rank. After honor was reset and the 114k was applied, I am still Knight-Captain and the bar didn’t even seem to move. Did they just not apply the honor I earned yet or what? I know it takes longer to level the higher you go and you are competing with other players but it seems like I should at least be well into the rank of Knight Champion.
It depends. Sometimes ranks need to be updated and it can take a while. That said, I have no idea what the honor caps for each bracket are on your server. 114k does not seem a lot, so depending on how active your pvp community is, it might just be that you only farmed enough honor to keep your current rank. Check the tab that says. “this week’s honor”. If the counter was reset to zero the rank already updated. Not sure what rank you are going for but it would be ideal to find out the brackets on your server, and wether you have a dedicated grp/discord that manages those. It could be that you just did not hit a certain bracket and therefore did not rank up at all.
On pretty much any server, when you reach rank 8, 114k won’t be enough to get you anywhere. You’ll have to get up to into the 200k range to advance and on some servers much higher.
current rp=.8*(last weeks rp)+(earned rp)
While you can skip the first few ranks as the amount of rank points increases per rank needed the decay of rank becomes greater. It is a bad system and was removed in tbc for good reason.
To get any higher you must have to literally queue non-stop for BGs in a good premade that wins every time. Thank you for your responses. They were helpful. I think I have reached my limit with PvP ranks and need to focus on another part of the game.
