PvP Rank Pools Hotfix Coming October 13

Loktar friends “what is it you wish” A great company once said.
Dear blizzard from a long time player of your games 10 years plus I am Very upset in hearing this decision made… for someone with a full time job who for months has been solo pvping my way to what would have been my goal of R13 and then stopping, as i wouldn’t have the time to progress past that.
I am now stuck at 95% through R12 as this would have been my last week of grinding honor after months of hardwork and dedication. Until recently i have found the pvp community and have started to form new friendships in organised pvp groups which helped me progress towards my goal a little faster, sadly with this hotfix it reduces the amount of teams and only caters to those pushing the maximum honor who don’t have the setbacks of the player with a fulltime job outside of wow. Now the people who were closest to hit max ranks have all but taken those spots in the only premade left running because of this change to the poolsize. I am deeply worried i won’t reach my goal this week only failing by 5% and has left a sour taste in my mouth as i would have been finishing pvp to play shadowlands.
However i will wait and see what awaits my efforts as i will sacrifice one final weekend of 3 18 hour days of pvping solo only to be left completely uncertain if my time put in will even move me slightly towards the finish line. please reconsider this hotfix blizz i would be happy to purchase more of your games in future if only we the players could get a little bit of respect and understanding. This is a tough year on all of us especially those in Victoria have been under curfew for 8 months and this was a nice competitive and social aspect that i enjoyed outside of all the craziness. Let us love you once more blizzard please reconsider this.

I hit r14 5 weeks ago. I would not have contemplated trying unless the padding system was in place, and without the extreme lockdown I have faced in my state. As I described it when I finished - since the game was released 16 years ago, players have found a way to work within the system to make it work.

Now that has been pulled out from under us, with no thought or consideration of the impact on real people at the end of the $15 a month accounts.

I am now feeling a hell of a lot of survivor guilt when my friends are not able to finish. These are people who put in the same level of effort as me, under the same if not harder conditions (ever dwindling pool of serious players) who are being arbitrarily cut off from reaching their goal.

This is yet another example of Blizzard treating players callously, not consulting with us, not considering the impact of their decisions on the actual mental and physical health of their paying customer base.

Horribly disappointing and frustrating decision that I really wish would be reversed, even if its too late for some :frowning:

Oh and a postscript:
Ending this announcement with the phrase “Thank you very much!” is pretty bloody disgusting.

Knowing the impact that just ranking in the bloated system had on my mental health, I know, without a shadow of a doubt, what impact this would have had on me in my last week. There would be others out there like me. It just shows that you don’t see us, the players, as people with feelings. Imagine being at the end of 12 weeks of 70+ hours each week of pvp, and having the ability to finish that week removed. Just for a minute. Then imagine typing that message and hitting post. It’s bloody rude.

It only took a day for the toxic pvp community to figure out how to side step this issue. The amount of people charging real money for “ pvp pool boosting services” out in the open is crazy. I have already seen way more than I have since the start of pooling. This is usually a hush hush thing. “I know a friend of a friend”. But now, go to any realms PVP discord and it’s rampant.

Cut off one head, 3 more will grow.

Should have left this alone.

Congrats Blizzard.

I mean if the community at the top is really so toxic, it’s kind of their own fault.

They clearly dont play the game cause they enjoy it.

Charging people to pvp on an alt is pretty funny actually. Also not nearly as much of exploit as what was going on.

did you weigh the impact it has on players who have over the months being building a strong pvp community in their own server to support a more manageable way to rank up? is cooperation so shunned? why? blizzard company prefers to screw its customers? you allowed hundreds to thousands of HWL to pass so many month, why u hotfix now? many of the ppl who speaks against padding r perhaps not ranking at all at the moment, it is not fair to speak about this issue at all. do you know how it feels to be doing bg 20+ hours a day for 7 days a week? do you know the social impact to of this?

i believe alot of ppl across eu, us, oceanic servers r badly affected, let me ask, are the korean and china and taiwan servers applied this hotfix too?

Quite easily the dumbest hotfix ever to be applied to Classic WITHOUT an alternative to create bigger slots for higher brackets. Any person who has any form of a full time job, let alone a job at all who doesn’t want their personal life to fall apart has just missed any hope of achieving any significant PVP rank. Even with the current design it was close to impossible to get get a r12+14 with a full time job without putting in some serious hours, which was fine. I raid to get gear to have fun in PVP and have some form of a ‘ladder’ to grind up. This has quite simply killed off 2 birds with 1 stone in terms of end game content for me. Raids get pushed over quite easily after release and grow boring quite fast.

Lol why would you POSSIBLY be upset by the removal of DELETED characters from the ranking pools? Why? unless…

THIS right here!!! Couldn’t have said it better myself!!!

Because an account can only create 10 toons per server and creating a B1 slot requires 330 toons to accumulate 15 HKs per week. Simple math.

Wow, thanks heaps.

Considering BG ques don’t even pop if your below level 60, all I can do at my level range is open world PvP and I was enjoying the steady climb to R10.

Guess that’s done with now.

I find it amusing that people think that had people been doing this same thing back in vanilla the devs would have been totally cool with it then. And this is some grand conspiracy theory to sabotage classic instead of fixing an obvious exploit.

go back to play retail. We dont want dumb people in here

Why do we want exploiters here?
