yes, on my ally warr alone i have 120 days, on this horde im on 20 just at 60 and i dinged like 2 months ago.

you are out of your element telling these people about classic experience.

Yeah no, sorry i have plenty of classic experience.

And while I don’t get why blizzard prioritized this over other things like fixing AV or doing something about premades, this is an exploit and they are returning it to how the honor system was designed to work.

I never comment on these post just because most of the time I agree with them. But this has to be the dumbest thing I have seen you guys do. The wow classic pvp system is so bad and the only way to make it better is what the community is doing and you just say we do not care about the players lets make this a bad again. I really hope you do not do this.

If you were arguing for an actual legitimate change to the honor system I’d be all for it, but arguing to be allowed to continue exploiting is just silly.

Be glad you got away with it as long as you did.

How was this exploiting when it was in the code till TBC ?

Your logic is flawed, this was done in vanilla

That’s what one would hope. but sadly it’s not the reality.

it was designed for a differently sized servers. and implemented during different stages to classic. so original design intent means little when its a modern implementation.

Probably because it wasn’t abused to the same degree in vanilla, be glad blizzard just fixing the exploit not actioning people for using it and accept it was only temporary.

The rank brackets are % based it’s one of the few systems that actually did scale with server size.

@Kaivax, could we get some of the context behind this decision?

There doesn’t seem to be a tactful post in this thread explaining the benefit of the change, and the overwhelming majority of posters here who oppose the change have made it clear exactly how removing PvP pool padding will negatively affect large communities in the game.

The lack of explanation in this post has left many with a bad taste in their mouth, including me. This change comes at a great cost to whole communities of legitimate players, and it feels like Blizzard is approaching it too hastily and too casually.

I think answering these questions could go a long way towards a better developer-community relationship:

What motivated Blizzard to spend resources taking action against pool padding?
What positive effect on players will the removal of honor pool padding have?
Were there any discussions of other solutions with less side-effects, and if so, why was removal of deleted characters from the PvP pool our best option?

This is going to make the pvp community a (more) toxic place on each server. It’s not just about the time put into ranking, but, bitterness of those already ranked and have more money to spend on even more accounts, or paying people on different servers to come over to your server to pool.

This is a multi-level issue that Bliz hasn’t considered because it doesn’t seem like they sought input from the pvp community. I know there were people being extreme on pooling, but, that’s the minority.

This grind already promoted an extremely unhealthy lifestyle - padding assisted in helping curve that. Removing padding make the grind more unhealthy and competition more toxic. Please revert this change.

well this isn’t what I wanted to hear. Personally I already know of like 10 people who said “I’m done ranking” after reading this. Very fun

Very disappointing - can’t understand how making this change a year late is necessary or fair to rankers (and this is coming from someone who is already HWL). Blizzard, please listen to your community… I have not seen a single “pro-change” comment outside of one lvl 120 retail druid who’s obviously trolling this forum.

Instead of hurting botters, you hurt the players. Good job.

right but there are some servers where theres not enough people to create a br1 spot. Thats not working as intended. because they didnt intend to have any servers that small, yet here we are.

funny thing is, the servers were fine till blizzard offered limitless free transfers and basically murdered some of these servers and is now taking another stab on an already dead body.

Shameful

There were servers that small in vanilla.
