Hi, myself and some friends just recently started some characters on the classic era Whitemane server. I just wanted to know, before I invest a ton of time into leveling, if there are actually pvp matches that occur at max level. I’m also not sure if there are battlegroups or if the pvp is server based. Thank you.
Why would you level on whitemane instead of Anniversary servers?
There are brand new WOW era servers called Anniversary servers where everyone is playing.
That’s just the server that a friend picked. I don’t know much about anniversary servers and if they are going to be reverted to classic era after they’ve run their course.

Era servers are a waste of time.
No one is going to play there for 2 years man. It’s a ghost town.
It’s a dumping ground for seasonal servers and special project server where people can dump their character they never play after those servers shut down.
Anniversary servers are going on to TBC and likely WOTLK.

We’re definitely not wanting to go on to bc or wotlk, so anniversary servers will be out for me. I was just hoping that someone could tell me queue times for level 60.
No you can’t PVP there. No one is there.
You will most likely be able to transfer your anniversary chars to ERA anyway, or hopefully to a new ERA without gdkp’s, so nothing to lose in joining thriving aniv servers, which have tons of BG’s going on at any time.
There will probably be an option to clone your char to an era server.
Queue’s are non existent right now in Whitemane, even on AV weekends.
Everybody is playing Anniversary, which is basically the same thing with very minor changes.
Not that Era is bad - everybody will be back. But it will take a long while until after Anniversary has run its course.
So to answer your question, yes, it would be a waste of time to roll there. Roll anniversary instead.

Blizz needs to shut down all the Classic private servers first. All those people playing over here could be over here. Then we would have our queues back and not be worrying about if we will ever be able to get a group or not.

AV presently not a thing, but will be back when anniversary crashes and burns.
World PvP is actually really fun.
World leveling both factions is excellent
Raiding on Allies is really good, and horde is decent also.
BG Q’s as horde solo Q are generally better.

Don’t listen to the naysayers. Era is great and very active…for pve. Not sure on pvp.
Anniversary are horribly toxic. There is no community. And they’re going to TBC. So if you want to stay in Vanilla, they’re not even an option.

anniversary isn’t real classic WoW, for one thing 
doll speck, megaserver layering trash, etc.

Era players have to get together on discord to get ppl to pvp, anniversary is<1 min queues.
