Is queue manipulation okay, unless its shuffle/blitz?
This change should be applied to ALL forms of PvP.
Unrated battlegrounds used to be my favorite thing to spend time on back in the day.
The state of normal/epic bgs with premades dropping and re-queuing trying to get a stacked team in the same bg against uncoordinated groups isn’t helping pvp grow.

I have this same question and for the same reasons. Win trading and queue manipulation happens in 2s, 3s, RBGs and in unrated PvP. The only way you can win trade is to queue sync in rated. In unrated groups of 5 sync there queues sometimes using add-ons to try and all get into the same games. Often times dropping queues because not enough of the group got a queue pop at the same time. This often times causes leads to one side starting 15 to 20 players SHORT sometimes up to 5 minutes into the match with no real back filling.
If you are pug you are just getting stream rolled over and over. Certain times of the day these premades are almost unavoidable. This causes people to leave games because the debuff is shorter than sitting through getting steamrolled for 20 minutes, and causes people back fill into games that are already over. This causes them to often leave and so on. All these stuff reeks havoc on the queue system as they try and gain advantages. The only difference between this is there is no “win trading” but it’s defiantly manipulating the queues to get favorable results. There wouldn’t be 5 man groups limits that they have to try and bypass if it was intended for raid groups to get into the same games. If that was intended, there wouldn’t be 5 man group limits I would assume. Because we have seen this tested in classic multiple times, allowing raid groups in bgs only for it to be changed eventually again.
TDLR this change should apply to all brackets.
This also doesn’t address duos in Blitz. What happens if one team mate takes the queue but a duo partner doesn’t/misses the queue? Do both players get the debuff? Normal BGs it needs to work the same way honestly. If a group members misses a queue, the debuff should start.
Just look at the BG forums and how many threads there are complaining about queue sync premades in unrated PvP. It’s a daily thing.

Agree, should be for all forms of PVP.
Unrated modes are actually the ones most miserable with sync queuers/premades. In rated bgs at least sometimes you have a chance if your team is actually good. Uphill battle, but I’ve seen it work.
“But I want to play with my friends!”
Good thing you do, just queue normally as a group and likely you’ll be facing against other groups. But apparently people crying over this don’t have what it takes to play on equal grounds against actual premade parties. Might as well go to low level zones in Warmode and gank leveling players.

I also agree that it should just be the default for all forms of PvP. The amount of queue syncing in epics is out of hand this would slow them down at the very least.

It should apply everywhere
Also for rated, the ready check counter should be removed.

Am I the unpopular opinion that doesn’t like getting penalized for missing queue? When queues take 20 minutes I often leave my desk, I miss queues all the time. Now I am stuck during the queue, this is not a good solution when you have such long queue times.

Maybe rated content would have lower queues if there was less queue dodging. Same thing with unrated.
I mean they removed our ability to blacklist BGs so those that queue dodge are basically blacklisting any game they feel is not favorful.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander. I would prefer to see player agency return by giving us the ability to blacklist certain BGs.
That would help a lot for unrated but for rated play they definitely need the PVP queue debuff.

The occasional missed queue won’t make much of a difference, a 1 minute penalty is nothing, however if you keep missing queues unintentionally back to back you’ll be penalized with a longer debuff. It’ll be more to stop the people dodging queues intentionally or trying to queue sync with their friends to win trade.
I think you’ll find most people disagree with you and most of the ones that do are probably intentionally manipulating queues.

Probably yeah, but it’s a good start.
Blitz is really obnoxious the number of times it takes the queue to pop before people are ready.

Still time to make this change before the patch goes live and apply it to all modes.

It would be an interesting test to see it all modes of PVP.

I was able to test with arena comp stomp and it didnt appear to work there.. not definitive but not a great sign
The patch notes said only Blitz and RSS.

Most likely they want to test this out for Blitz and RSS first. If it succeeds I am sure they expand it to other modes too for PVP and maybe even for PVE.

It would be very nice for unrated BGs so casual pvp can exist again instead of just being randoms vs qsync premades. Just removing the counter on the ready check would do a ton for this, as well as making them cross faction. Would probably help queue times as well.

To be honest premades and partial premades will always exist. But the key issue is that it impacts 2-3 other games with missing players.
That might be too disruptive but it exists in a grey area currently.,

They’ll always exist, but a massive amount of the advantage is lost when you remove the ability to do so outside of the constraints of regular matchmaking. If a group of 5 queues up, matchmaking can account for that by ensuring there’s a group of 5 on the other side. Sure, these groups may not be created equal, but it’s better than nothing. It would certainly be no where near as bad as the current ability to have a full premade vs full randoms.

People are syncing in regular BGs? lol

Regular BGs are almost unplayable as the majority of matches are randoms vs qsync abusers.
