How is it possible that ffxiv pvp equivalent bgs are faster pops than wow?
WOW has more focus on pvp and esports. I am assuming wow still has more pvp players so I also assume que times would be quicker.
But in my experience, this is not true, Que times are faster in FFXIV.
Not a complaint, just generally curious if waiting 45 minutes for epic bgs is normal.
Barely anyone PVPs anymore, coming from a retired Pvper. All the rewards you get are cheap recolors, barely get any rewards and its mentally taxing to invest your time in a game mode that gives nothing for how much effort it takes.
PvP in WoW has been on the decline for years.
I am willing to bet FF14 actually has a larger casual PvP base now.
All the PvP rewards in WoW were shoved behind Rated, so that’s all anyone does anymore.
Casual BGs/Epic BGs are declining, as there is less and less of a reason to do them.
Add in the fact people still premade, and it results in an un-fun experience for most.
The queue times are often long enough for me to not engage after a while.
A big bonus in FF14, is there is no PvP gearing whatsoever, you just jump in and play.
It’s pre-season right now- we’ll see if things pick up next week.

No one pvp’s in FF14 except on Saturdays.
I haven’t played FF14 myself since like 2022-ish, but I remember those big 3v3 team PvP maps with large amounts of players, and the queues weren’t that bad at all.

Probably people are at work or school.
It is normal if your honor level is below 30.
Once you make it out if the entry level bracket you will come play with the big boys like me. And premade raids.
And top 10 honor level Owl 3000+ honor level

Need to get markers on if you’re comparing Frontlines or Crystaline Conflict to what in WoW? Are you comparing these to endgame WoW or what? Because the game treats PvP very differently.
Dont listen to the pvp haters. They don’t know anything about current systems and are still bitter from the past.
We are in the best PVP era of the game.
Have you tried using mercenary mode to queue as Horde? That’ll make your BG queue’s faster.
Regardless, I have never had a 45 minute wait for epic BG’s. I’d try waiting until prime time to get a better gage.
WoW tried something like this in Legion and it failed miserably.
Gear obtained from PvP at the time was very inferior to PvE gear and as a result if you wanted to be able to play in world PvP, you had PvE which sucked.
The honor level bracket need to be removed. New players are getting turned off by it. See OP.

PvP in WoW has always stunk.
The game’s engine just doesn’t support it properly, and the whole gearing nonsense where if you’re new to PvP, you enter random battlegrounds with people who can roflstomp you in 2 seconds and you can’t touch them whatsoever, and the classes are so very unfairly balanced, where rogues can stunlock you to death, and a single healer can tank several people on him at once depending on his gear.
It’s just stupid, and I never really understood what people ever saw in it. People go on and on about “WPvP!!!” but that was just people ganking people who couldn’t possibly fight back.
Between that, and the premades stomping random battlegrounds and/or players in absurd gear stomping battlegrounds, I’ve come to the conclusion that the only time people enjoy PvP is when they are being the playground bully, pushing everybody around and the other side is a bunch of masochists going “hurt me more!”.

I know you don’t like it, but you can’t deny it.
Honor level 1-29 are in their own unrated bracket, thats why OP lvl 26, is seeing 45 mins epic bg queues when it should be 5 minutes.
FF removed gear from the equation. Everybody gets a level playing field, at least as far as in-game stats go.
I never did PvP in FF, I don’t know if premades are possible, but at least you won’t get roflstomped by someone who has a humongous mathematical advantage over you.
