PvP Power Back?

I haven’t seen anyone mention this in all the changes videos I’ve watched (including PvP focused folks), but is PvP Power actually back now?

https://www.wowhead.com/item=174380/gladiators-concordance

It’s clearly on this piece and the text suggests it’s going to be found on other gear. Curious why I haven’t heard anyone talking about its PvP impact.

if this is true then holy cow WM just got more hectic.

Don’t get my hopes up…

this would hands down be the best possible thing for the pvp community

m+ and raid specific gear being so dominant in pvp scenarios has damaged both competitive integrity and casual pvp oriented play for so long

really hoping this is real

I’m pretty sure it’s not back. PvP gear on the beta has vers on it, but just regular stats nonetheless.

I dunno. It’s listed on Wowhead under both the beta and live listings pages. I really hope it is real.

They had said no PvP power when the stat was datamined a few months ago, something like they tried it internally and decided against it.

Would be amazing to have a PvP stat again though. Separation from PvE gear would solve so many of SL’s PvP problems instantly.

The item you found was something that was tested some time back to re-add PVP power and ultimately it failed hard, so they abandoned the whole idea. That is not going to be coming to SL unless “PVP power” = versatility.

I disagree, it would re-add the problem they originally had where getting into PVP was near impossible because you were a piece of paper for everyone to DESTROY on sight. You couldn’t kill anyone. And also it forced people to carry a set for PVP and PVE individually.

You have to do that now and will also have to do in SL without a PvP stat.

It’s not a real problem.

I gotta tell you, I don’t really care if PvErs have to put in work to get a PvP set before they can be competitive in PvP. It worked fine for like 12 years. Catering to PvErs gear needs is why PvP gearing has been so abysmal.

i miss pvp gear.
when you saw someone in pvp gear in the zone you are in on a pvp server you got out of that zone as fast as you can.

It’s better than being a piece of paper for M+15 players. Honor gear should be easy enough to acquire to get you started.

It’s happening!

And thats how you kill PVP off, its already bad enough people hate it, but to gateway entry to PVP is worse and will be permakilled.

Opposed to the several amount of sets players carry now…

Also what!?!?!? Impossible to get into? That’s not accurate at all in MoP and WoD. PvP gear was stupid easy to acquire.

Unless they fix the double pvp trinket bonus to where it’s worse to pass them up, I imagine you’ll still see pve trinkets being bis. It’s hard to pass up a cheat death and an on use trinket that chunks 1/3 of someone’s health.

A girl can dream. I hope you are right, but I suspect you aren’t :frowning:

I’d love to see resilience make a comeback. PvP Power always felt a little awkward.

i wonder what you mean by “problem originally” because it worked that way for like 15 years before legion and it was never seen as an issue

there’s so many MORE issues from unbalancable pve pieces being overwhelming/mandatory in pvp scenarios

we were forced to carry around 3 different azerite sets / rings/trinkets/weapons in bfa
i don’t see how a 10 or so set pvp set would be the end of the world in an age where we have like 150 bag slots

i mean the alternative to pvp power is to significantly reduce versatility on pve gear and disable effects like geti’ikku or bilestained crawgtusks and disable pve trinkets in instanced pvp

Resilience. That single stat ruined pvp as a gatekeeper.

i’m well aware of the stat i’m just saying your post was dumb

“original problem” it was never a problem
we had pvp power and resilience and pvp scaling that all made having mandatory pvp gear a thing for like literally 15 years

last season i qd like 4000 arenas and had 5 classes over 2700 any none of them wore more than 1 pvp piece (insignia sometimes)
that’s stupid
